A RESURRECTED LIFE

This is the season when we focus on the glorious resurrection of Jesus, and rightly so! It is the very foundation of our faith (1Cor 15:12-19). Christ’s resurrection proved His divinity, validated His teachings and the sufficiency of His sacrifice for mankind’s sin, and made possible for every believer the same triumph over sin and death – hallelujah!

A Shocking Event

During the time Jesus was on earth, the Bible reveals that He was not the only one resurrected from the dead. John chapter 11 unfolds the amazing account of Lazarus of Bethany  being brought back to life. In this one event are many incredible truths: From Jesus’ bold statement, I am the resurrection and the life (v.25) to commanding the gates of Hades and death to release Lazarus, Lazarus come forth! (v.43); the subsequent plot to kill Jesus because of this resurrection (vs.45-57) and even to murder Lazarus as well (Jn 12:9-11).

This unprecedented event opened the eyes and ears of everyone who learned of it, revealing Who Jesus really is and leading many to believe in Him. Yet, in all of this, there was one person who can easily be overlooked but who played a very prominent part – that is Lazarus himself.

Through Lazarus’ Eyes

Though the Bible does not divulge every detail about Lazarus’ life, death and resurrection, we can safely say that his view of life and the world around him must have been radically altered by what he experienced!

Lazarus likely had such overwhelming gratitude, deeper reverence and more sincere love for the One Who gave him a new life, even perhaps changing his sense of purpose. He likely saw everything around him with new eyes, with the once ordinary becoming extraordinary.

We do not know the specifics about what became of Lazarus, but he undoubtedly lived the rest of his life as a completely changed Christ-follower.

The Resurrection and the Life  

Here is a powerful thought for your contemplation: As believers in Jesus – those who have truly received His finished work and fully surrendered our lives, hearts, desires and bodies, as well as our past and future, to Him in faith – we, too, are to live like the resurrected Lazarus! And because of Jesus, our entire worldview and perspective on this life is forever changed.

We know one day we will perish physically, but we do not fear that day. For we are assured that we are ultimately alive forevermore in Christ (Jn 11.25,26). But that is just part of living a “resurrected life.”

What more does it mean for us to live a “resurrected life”? Here is just some of what the Scriptures reveal to us:
  • We who were dead in sin have been raised to spiritual life, and are seated in the heavenlies with Christ – a place of privilege and service, with a Kingdom perspective on life (Eph 2:4-6). This is symbolized in water baptism after salvation (Rom 6:4).
  • The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead now lives in us, bringing His authority, power, anointing and gifts that enable us to live a life of victory over sin – while also equipping us as highly effective agents and ambassadors of His Kingdom work (Rom 8:11-17; 2Cor 5:20).
  • The Holy Spirit is continually at work to transform us more into the likeness (character) of Christ, and to use everything we may experience of death, loss, disappointment or failure for that very same purpose as we surrender it all to Him (Phi 3:20,21; 2Cor 3:18).
  • The Spirit of God living in us is also our “guarantee,” or down payment, of our full and complete salvation (2Cor 1:22; 5:5; Eph 1:14).
  • Through all that Jesus has done for us in granting us resurrection life, we are joined with the, great multitude which no one could number of all nations, tribes, people and tongues standing before the throne and the Lamb, to worship Him forever (Rev 7:9,10).

We Are to Participate

Only Jesus, as God the Son, could resurrect Himself (Jn 10:18). Through His sacrifice and resurrection, He has granted to us exceedingly great and precious promises (2Pet 1:3,4) that roll away the stone of sin and death and allow us to receive His resurrection life.

We do not have the power to resurrect ourselves. We can only receive that gift from Jesus. But this gift requires that we also be active participants in what Christ has granted to us. Here are a few ways that can be done (Col 3:1-5):

  • Seek those things which are above (v.1); set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth (v.2). Jesus said it this way: Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness [right relationship with Him], and all these things [what you genuinely need in life] shall be added to you (Matt 6:33). Living a resurrection life means, first and foremost, to be Kingdom minded. Though we must live with the daily demands and practicals of this life, we are to bring and apply God’s Kingdom focus, values and priorities to everything we are and do – every day!

  • For you died and your life is hidden with Christ in God (vs.4,5; also Col 3:8-10). To truly live a resurrected life, we must daily turn away from a worldly life of compromise, complacency and self-service (Rom 6:1-14). Jesus gives us a clear invitation to die to the things of the flesh and join Him in a new life of resurrection power (Lk 9:23-26).

A New and Living Way

Lazarus was raised from the dead. He lived the remainder of his life seeing, doing and choosing everything through the viewpoint of a resurrected follower of His Living Savior and Lord. This month, as we once again celebrate our Savior’s resurrection and life, let it be more than just a once-a-year remembrance. Let us bring our whole heart, mind, body and strength to Jesus, and live our lives daily as a bold declaration of our spiritual resurrection through Christ!

INTERNATIONAL PRAYER POINTS

1. Iran

As the unrest and very tenuous peace talks continue in Iran and the Middle East, let us continue to pray daily over this region.

Please pray as you are led by the Holy Spirit, and also pray for:
  • Holy Spirit born wisdom and revelation to national leaders to guide them to righteous resolution.
  • Safety for non-combatants, and for those on the frontlines drawn into this conflict.
  • An end to the brutal and senseless executions of Christians and others by the Iranian regime.
  • For strength and grace for the Iranian Christians, that they might be wise and bold witnesses to their fellow countrymen.

2. Great Britain, Spain, France, Canada

Pray for conviction and repentance to fall upon the leaders of these nations, and upon the people, as they pursue evil practices, godless agendas and dictatorships against the will of the nationals in these countries.

Please pray for:
  • Revival to be poured out on these nations, for they have no hope apart from Jesus Christ.
  • Muslims and others to be radically saved and converted to faith in Christ.
  • Sweeping changes in governmental leadership, raising up those who will be righteous and use common sense to lead their nations and protect their people.

3. The Church Worldwide

As the resurrection of Jesus Christ is celebrated worldwide, please pray for a strong witness of this reality to be boldly declared and revealed, regardless of the persecution or opposition. Pray also for a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit in signs, wonders, visions and dreams, along with bold and uncompromising proclamations of the Gospel in every nation!

4. World MAP

From time to time, we all need reminders of the simple and plainly obvious things that, though important, can be easily overlooked in the busyness of life’s demands.

I had one such firm but gentle ‘nudge’ from the Holy Spirit recently on a topic that I think will challenge each of us: What is the point and purpose of prayer?

This question came with a tender reminder that our highest calling is nothing less than the greatest privilege in this universe, to walk humbly with our God, our Lord and Savior, in a deep and very personal relationship with Him.

From the beginning of creation, God designed us for this purpose – to be with Him in a relationship, to walk closely with Him in the garden. To no one’s surprise, the serpent vehemently opposes this relationship and still does whatever he can to hinder, dilute, and even break the bond of that divinely supreme privilege of walking with the God of creation through the paths of this life (Gen 3:8,9).

Busy Obstacles

We have heard it said, “If the devil can’t make you bad, he will make you busy.” In our day, we have every modern convenience to help alleviate the work this life demands. And yet we are somehow driven to fill every saved minute with even more busyness, including work, technology, entertainment, family, church activities, managing our “stuff,” and more. It conspires to rob us of time and energy, removing choices about how our time is spent.

If we are not careful, this can happen in our prayer life as well. And, of course, there is certainly a LOT to pray about in this hour! But add to that the spiritual books, seminars, podcasts and videos – all things that can be good, until they become the enemy of the best. We can get so busy in spiritual activities that we end up neglecting the very One to whom we are praying!

Lest We Forget

There is a man who had the most important and demanding mission ever assigned in life. Yet even He, “would often slip away to the wilderness and pray” (Lk. 5:16). The Son of God, God incarnate in human form, would retreat from the crowds and demands of life and ministry to be with His Father. His heart-focus remained on a deep and abiding relationship, to see and say only what the Father does (Jn 12:49,50). It wasn’t about a “recharge” – it was about abiding.

The Bible reveals another glorious picture of living in relationship with the risen King in the early church (Acts 13:1-4). From a practice of simply and powerfully being in His presence, there came prophetic direction from God the Spirit that exploded the Gospel out of Judea and into far-flung regions. This divine assignment, and the power to fulfill it, arose from their daily and worshipful relationship with the Living Lord.

The Whole Point

My hope and prayer for you today is that you will hear the voice of the One who loves you personally, deeply and eternally, calling you to come aside and just be with Him. Yes, there are many needful things to pray about. But remember to also choose time at the Lord’s feet, the “good part, which cannot be taken away” (Lk 10:41,42).

Thankfully, this is not an either/or proposition. We get to have and do both! To walk with the Lord in the garden and abide in His presence will both strengthen our relationship with Him, and strengthen and enhance our prayers (Jn 15:7), while better aligning us and our prayers with the will of God (Rom 8:26,27). We can better partner with the Lord of the Harvest in His will being done on earth as it is in heaven (Mt 6:9,10).

It all starts (and someday will finish) with our ever-increasing and intimate relationship with the Heavenly Father, Son and Spirit. What a blessed place of life, strength and peace!   

International Prayer Points

**The post below was written just before the unannounced bombing of Iran. Of course, it is even more urgent that we are praying for the Iranian people right now.  

1. IRAN

Once again, let us intercede this month for the people of Iran (please see last month’s Prayer Corps for more details about the unrest). **This is especially key during the Ramadan observance lasting through the middle of March.

With the recent violence, widespread protests and brutal government crackdowns, a tragic new development has begun to escalate. The nation-wide turmoil is being used as a covering justification for the radical Islamic government to persecute and murder Christians.

This has resulted in increased arrests and imprisonments, church burnings, property confiscations and summary executions with and without trials. More than 250 Christians were recently arrested, some executed, with the rest given long prison sentences (in most cases a death sentence). This evil violence is being framed by the government as “rooting out a threat from the West to undermine their Islamic authoritarian rule” – but is simply demonic at its root.

Please pray for:
  • The peace, safety and encouragement of the Iranian believers in Christ. 
  • Wisdom and boldness given by the Holy Spirit to enable believers to share their faith and to walk circumspectly.
  • The current radical Islamic government to be deposed and another put in place that will allow peace and freedom with minimum bloodshed.
  • Divine direction and wisdom to guide other national leaders to make righteous decisions and actions that will lead to lasting peace in Iran and the Middle East.
  • The outpouring of the Holy Spirit on all Islamic peoples, with accompanying signs, wonders, visions, divine dreams and more in order for multitudes to turn to Christ in the midst of such evil and chaos.

2. WORLD MAP

The doors are opening for another printing center for The Shepherd’s Staff! This exciting potential has been in development for the last six months and, if put in place, will make distribution for two key languages much easier throughout the western hemisphere, Europe and beyond! Please pray with us regarding the logistics, prices and needful quality control measures, as well as storage options and provision for every need!

In addition, work continues this month on the extensive audio/video teaching series on the Holy Spirit. Thank you for your continued prayers for this vital and impactful project.

Two large shipments of Shepherd’s Staffs are still held up in ports. Thank you for praying for the protection and quick release of these books, and for customs fees to be honest.

Conclusion

May your life and walk with the Lord be ever-deepening as you abide in Him. May you come to know intimately, “the width and length and depth and height – to know the love of Christ which surpasses all knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

All these are the beginning of birth pains (Mt 24:8).

Our world continues teetering on the edge of total chaos. As Christ-followers, we have already been warned about what accompanies these birth pains. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved (Mt 24:12,13).

If we stopped reading at that point in our Bibles, it would seem that we should just run toward our bunkers and stay there while hellishness consumes the world and we quietly await Christ’s soon return.

And yet … Jesus’ words of instruction for us continue: And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations (people groups), and then the end will come (Mt 24:14).

We Have an Assignment

Our conflicts in this world are ultimately not political or cultural. Yes, we should pray for those in authority (1Ti 2:1-7), and use our influence in the culture for righteousness. But being consumed by politics or cultural conflicts – even in the church – does not solve the real issues at hand and, frankly, just adds to the birth pains!

The real conflicts we face are spiritual (Ep 6:10-20). And the solutions are also spiritual. Jesus charged us with both the responsibility and privilege to partner with God in bringing His Kingdom to impact the hearts of minds of people everywhere.

Revival Is the Only Hope

The ultimate problem in every nation is a spiritual one. No political party or social justice will solve this fundamental breakdown. This spiritual problem is also a heart problem. Lost and broken people, who do not know or truly follow Christ, perpetuate more brokenness and evil.

As followers of Christ, and as those who carry the only real hope for the nations, we are called to be ambassadors (representatives) of another King and His Kingdom (2Cor.5:20). In these unprecedented days, we have a serious choice to make. Do we grasp this moment and press forward to follow our Savior in the power of His Spirit, ignited by His vision of seeking and saving the lost? Or do we squander this time by becoming apathetic, or comfortable to just hunker down and “go with the flow” of what is easiest?

Revival for This Generation

Many prophets today are speaking boldly about the season before us as the Body of Christ. They are urging us to intercede daily, repent from compromise in our lives and in the church, and to walk in bold Spirit-filled evangelism and personal consecration.

They are calling believers to pray every day for national revival, to pray in our homes and for our families, to challenge our congregations to pray more fervently, and to hold prayer meetings to pray for the Lord to save this generation!

Revival Can and Should Be a Present Reality

We are being urged to not just pray for revival, but to start LIVING revival! Whatever is in your life that should not be there, get it out. Whatever God is calling you to, rise up now and apply yourself to it.

We might be tempted to believe that, against the clear onslaught of evil in this day, one person alone cannot make a difference. But the Bible is clear: The effective and fervent prayers (sincere, persistent and faith-filled) of just one righteous person can accomplish much! (Ja 5:16). The fate of nations, filled with countless people that Christ died for, is in your hands, and can be changed by your prayers and your voice!

We are witnessing intense birth pains, brought on by lawlessness, betrayal, greed and wickedness. Even so, we must not let our love for Jesus and people grow cold due to fear, frustration or feelings of helplessness. Those lies of Satan must not succeed!

Instead, let us daily lift up holy hands in prayer and worship to our King, extend our hands to others in service, and raise our voices to speak to the lost, telling them of the One Who can bring hope and life to every heart, and revival to every nation!

International Prayer Points

1. IRAN

The people of Iran have been emboldened to rise up against their evil and oppressive leaders. In the midst of the protests and upheaval, the government is responding with murderous rage and brutal violence, shutting down all outside communication and cries for help. Some say as many as 40,000 people have been murdered, with tens of thousands more injured.

Terrorist groups from other countries have been brought in to “stamp out” protests and murder the innocent. Iranian Christians are being targeted for arrest or execution, even if they are uninvolved in the protests.

International tensions are also on the rise as the US moves military assets to the area.

Please pray for:
  • For the cessation of violence by the government and military against its own people. 
  • Against further escalation of other nations’ military forces getting involved.
  • That demonic activity, and every evil spirit and principality, would be bound and brought down, as well as human arrogance that commits acts of evil.
  • For supernatural protection of the innocent in Iran.
  • For the dissolution of the current government and the formation of a more righteous and free governmental system.
  • That Iranian Christians would be protected, and also emboldened to share the Gospel in the midst of the turmoil.

2. MUSLIMS AND RAMADAN

From February 17 to March 19, Muslims will observe their annual month of daily fasting called Ramadan. It is to be marked by inner searching as to the state of their soul and renewed commitment to their god, Allah. They also celebrate family each evening with a feast.

Terrorist groups use Ramadan as an excuse to commit acts of violence and persecution. At the same time, many Muslims are praying to hear from Allah during this time. Of course, a dead idol does not speak. But some Muslims do have very real supernatural encounters with the risen Christ in dreams and visions, and receive Him as Lord.

Please pray for:
  • Multitudes of Muslims to come to saving faith in Jesus Christ during Ramadan.
  • An outpouring of God’s Spirit in dreams, visions and miracles pointing to Jesus as Savior.
  • Laborers to boldly share the Gospel and testify of Christ to Muslims.
  • The thwarting of all planned acts of terror and violence.
  • Demonic religious spirits that drive Islam to be bound, and all its lies exposed.
  • A deep hunger and thirst for genuine righteousness to develop in Muslims, and their eyes blinded by deception to be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ.

3. WORLD MAP

Recording continues on the extensive teaching series about the Holy Spirit. Good progress has been made, but we covet your prayers for this important project.

World MAP also has numerous seminar opportunities before us this year. Thanks for praying for the mind of the Lord and His perfect will and timing regarding these open doors.

Conclusion

Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let the lost forsake his way and his thoughts, let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him and abundantly pardon (Is 55:6,7). Yes, and amen!

As we move into another new year, complete with uncertainties and unknowns, many sincere followers of Jesus seek direction and a clear revelation of what 2026 will hold.

People will rise who claim and believe that they have prophetic revelation regarding this coming year. Some will truly have divine insight given from the throne of God. Others may simply be saying what they hope will be true, or releasing ‘words’ with ulterior motives.

In these days, it is more important than ever that believers cultivate a fresh sensitivity to the Holy Spirit and His discernment. There are lots of voices and contrasting opinions. But where we will find the very personal answers we each need is in the daily, quiet place of the Lord’s presence ~ as we worship Him, give Him our requests, wait for His voice, and partake of the fresh manna of His Word. Sensitizing our spirit to His voice will also bring clarity in the prophetic realm as well.

Where We Stand

Regardless of the prophetic revelations, or however circumstances unfold this year, our right stance is already known and should align properly with the scriptures as revealed in 1Thessalonians 5:16-22:

  •  Rejoice always!
  •  Pray without ceasing!
  •  In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you!
  •  Do not quench the Spirit [of God]!
  •  Test all things!
  •  Hold fast what is good!
  •  Abstain from every form of evil!

These very practical yet challenging exhortations give us much to meditate upon, pray over and, most importantly, put into daily practice.

But Above All

Though many things will be declared about this coming year, there is one thing we know to still be vitally important. The writer of Hebrews by the Holy Spirit wrote it well:

…Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith… (Heb 12:1b-2a).

Clearly, there is much that can distract us from our “race of faith.” But we have the option to lift our eyes, that they might be riveted upon the One who has already run the race before us (Heb 4:14; 6:19-20).

Let us not shift our gaze to other runners, the cheering crowds (or booing devils), or the tantalizing offerings of this world. May we look only to Jesus, the One Who beckons us onward and upward for His purposes and Who also awaits us at the finish line!

Abundant Help

And thank the Lord that we do not run our race alone! Not only does Jesus understand all that we face in this life, He then provides His abundant grace that we might endure. We also have the Holy Spirit to empower and encourage us (Rom 8:11). He leads us (Rom 8:14) and continually uses everything in life to transform us more into Christ’s image (Rom 8:28-30).

So may we run our race with endurance. This is more than just patience or passive acceptance. It is a steadfast pressing on based on a true and living hope, a hope that will not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us (Rom 5:5).

This steadfast endurance is a settled determination that is not fearful or frantic – but rather faith-filled, for it is focused on Jesus! He originated our faith, He is perfecting our faith, and He continually prepares us for joining Him one day in glory!

International Prayer Points

1. Communist Oppression and Persecution: China, North Korea, Vietnam, Cuba, Laos

Communist persecution of specifically Christians is on the rise in these nations. Mandatory registrations of churches, forced “education” of pastors, strict control of church finances, loss of jobs and homes, surprise raids and arrests with cruel and lengthy prison sentences that often result in death – these oppressive methods and more are increasing in these countries.

There is a singular reason for this heightened persecution: substantial and confirmed reports that the Church is growing in these days! But our Lord and His Good News has never been, and will never be, halted by man’s selfish, cruel and oppressive methods. However, those experiencing such persecution need our prayers.

Please pray for:
  • The Gospel witness to continue to go forth even if only whispered to neighbors next door. 
  • More Gospel tools to be made available: tracts, Bibles, Gospel media in native languages, church leader training, and bold laborers who will go into these harvest fields.
  • The Holy Spirit’s power and guidance, bringing confirming signs and wonders when the Gospel is preached.
  • Provision – body, soul and spirit – for the believers, that they would be sustained and encouraged and their needs supernaturally met.
  • Fellowship to continue even when churches are closed, and for strategies that allow believers to continue to meet for encouragement, comfort and strengthening one another in spite of the loss and grief.  
  • Salvation for the oppressors, and many “Saul to Paul” type conversions in these nations!

2. World MAP

As we pray over and plan the calendar for 2026, we would so appreciate you joining us in prayer for the Holy Spirit to have His way, to lead and guide us with surety, to open every ordained door, and provide abundantly for every need.

Conclusion

This is going to be a glorious year of fruit-filled harvest, of Kingdom purposes advancing around the world, and of Jesus receiving even more glory from our lives as we run the race of faith with our whole heart fixed upon Him. Amen? Amen!

Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord (Luke 2:10,11).

Without doubt, these verses contain the most significant, life-altering and destiny-shaping announcement that humanity has ever heard! But also, within this news of “good tidings” comes the revelation of a common human condition.

Notice that the angel appearing to the shepherds that glorious night begins with the words, “do not be afraid.” Of course, it is completely understandable that these men of old would be startled and afraid when a heavenly being suddenly reveals itself and starts speaking to them!

The same would likely be true of us. Even today, when faced with something unexpected, or a particular challenge, or “unknowns” about the future – and especially with our world in so much turmoil – our first tendency is most often to feel afraid.

Yet, the angel addressed that kind of fear, and gave assurance of a much greater spiritual principle that rises far above our natural inclinations.

Grounds for Joy

In direct contrast to fear, the angel speaks of “great joy” – for all people everywhere, and for all time. But what is this joy that allows us to rise above circumstances, fear and worry?

This supernatural joy is not to be confused with a feeling of “happiness.” Happiness is temporary and usually based upon momentary circumstances or desires. However, the joy we find in the Word of God is far more profound and eternal in nature.

Nehemiah reveals, the joy of the Lord is our strength (Neh 8:10). David, after falling in sin, hungered to be restored to the joy of God’s salvation (Psa 51:12). And Isaiah declared that everlasting joy would be upon all of God’s people (Isa 35:10).

Joy is among the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Gal 5:22). Joy is declared to be our response when encountering trials (James 1:2). Even Jesus Christ, for the joy set before Him, endured the cross (Heb 12:2). He found the strength to endure one of the most brutal tortures ever recorded because of a supernatural joy that was before Him.

Surely then, this joy must go far beyond a happy feeling. This type of joy must be of greater substance and durability than simple happiness – and it is!

His Joy is Ours

The genuine and supernatural joy of the Lord is the deep-seated assurance of all that we have in Christ. All of Who He is, and all that He has done, is ours through Him when we have received His salvation. The joy set before Jesus was knowing of the salvation He alone would provide to a lost and hopeless humanity that could never be found any other way.

And because of His joy-filled sacrifice on the Cross to take the penalty for our sins, we now have available His forgiveness, redemption, healing, wisdom, strength, provision, grace, purpose, eternal destiny, and much more. Hallelujah!

Therefore, despite any short-lived circumstance of life, we can reject all fear that wants to overtake us. May we instead choose to walk in the deep and profound joy of Christ and His salvation, trusting ourselves and our future to our faithful Creator (1Pet 4:19) Who promises to never leave us nor forsake us (Deut 31:8). In Him, we can truly “rejoice always” (1Thes 5:16).

So, with joy-filled assurance, let us daily release our burdens and fears and instead lift our requests to this great and mighty Savior who both hears and answers when we call.

International Prayer Points

1. Celebrating the Birth of Jesus

This most blessed and sacred season of rejoicing in Christ’s birth around the world can also be very dangerous for millions of Christians in persecuted areas.

When they gather in larger numbers, they can quickly become targets of persecution by radicals of false religions and atheist state governments.

Please pray for:
  • Peace, safety and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit as a tangible witness to both believers and nonbelievers.
  • Those intent upon evil and violence to be thwarted and stopped – and may conviction come swiftly, with repentance and genuine faith in Jesus Christ following.
  • The testimony and Gospel of Jesus to be diffused like a fragrance everywhere (2Cor 2:14-16), from the halls of government to the humblest dwellings.
  • Believers to be bold, to proclaim the Good News at every opportunity, in every gathering and conversation. People are desperate, and they need the Lord!
  • A renewed spiritual hunger for authentic salvation to arise both inside the Church and outside in the marketplace.

2. Signs of Revival

In spite of what you might read or hear, there is good news happening around the world!

  • In the USA, more than 20 million Bibles have been purchased in 2025. And one Bible app just passed the one billion mark for downloads! There has also been a surge of young men rising and regularly attending evangelical churches. Pray for them!
  • Amidst the brutality of Islamic terrorism in Africa (particularly Nigeria), a frontline ministry has reported the conversion of many “child-soldiers” who were cruelly indoctrinated into violence but have been saved. They are now becoming warriors and bold evangelists for Jesus Christ!
  • Despite the rise of violent attacks against Christians and churches worldwide, God is moving! In France, which has become a dark and pagan land, church attendance and church growth is rising quickly. Every ten days, a new evangelical/charismatic church is planted!

These are just a few of thousands of testimonies that speak of the great things the Lord is doing in these perilous times. Every day, in the hearts of men, women and children around the globe, the Holy Spirit is continually drawing people to Jesus Christ!

So how can we pray? Simply beseech the Lord to continue to do what only He can do, and then ask Him what part He wants you to have in His great work of salvation in these days.

3. World MAP

We are humbled by the fruitful ministry the Lord accomplished through us this year. You help make it possible, so we thank you for your earnest prayers that open the doors and make the paths of the Lord straight before us! May you enjoy a blessed and wonderful Christmas season.

Conclusion

In this blessed Christmas season, and as we enter another year, may our hearts rejoice and be filled with worship to our Living Savior! Let us walk in the joy and full assurance of all of Who Christ is and all that He pours into our lives as His children.

No matter the challenge or trial, or the victories ahead, we are His and He is ours, now and throughout eternity. And there are no greater good tidings of great joy than that!

Expanding Revival  

There are clear signs of growing revival around the world. In western nations, disillusioned youth are now attending church, purchasing Bibles and changing their priorities in life. In other nations, signs and wonders and the bold preaching of the Gospel are drawing tens of thousands to salvation through Jesus Christ.

Yet, at the same time, violent persecution is rising. From just name-calling or “cancel culture” to horrific and deadly attacks and brutal tyranny; from communist oppression to religious extremism from Muslims, Hindus and others; persecution is on the rise worldwide.

Sadly, demonic deceptions within the Church are rising as well. We see rejection of biblical truth for heresy, divisiveness, moral compromise, apathy, self-consumption, abuse, demonic practices, all crippling and even destroying parts of the Body of Christ.

When It Seems Darkest

But thank God, He always responds to the cries of His children when we come before Him with true repentance and humility (2Chron 7:14). Many of the people of God have done just that in this hour, and thus we are seeing the release of worldwide revival!

So be encouraged to not relent in prayer or shrink back. We battle raging demonic strongholds, principalities and powers. Christ followers must continue to earnestly seek the Lord with fasting, Spirit-filled intercessions and passionate persistence that presses back and exposes evil, and cries out for God’s Kingdom to come and His will to be done!

Where It Begins

True revival begins with the Church being revived! When we repent and seek the Lord, God’s Kingdom presence comes and is more readily seen, felt and experienced. His powerful presence then supernaturally transforms people (2Cor 3:18) more and more into His likeness. Our impact on the world then grows, as does the testimony of our “light” and “salt.”

This allows us to both gather and preserve His harvest through genuine salvations and by making disciples.

The Time of His Visitation

Though the vast difference between good and evil seems obvious “in other places”, the ease and prosperity in the West has lured many people into compromise and deception.

But now, the prayers of the saints are causing light to be shed upon the growing darkness in our land. For some time, the devil has maneuvered and taken advantage in darkness, but the schemes and horrors of evil are being revealed for all to see.

At the same time, the contrast of such darkness is revealing the glorious light of God’s mercy, truth and salvation through Christ! The effect is that the “gray” area between darkness and light is dissipating. And that is a good thing.

God is moving – and He has called His Body, His Bride to move with Him to enact His will on earth. So never forget that your prayers and service in His name are indispensable to His sovereign plans for every nation in the earth.

Let Us Keep Praying…

  • For the will of God to be done on earth, and for His Spirit to be poured out to enable His people to fulfill it in power.
  • For bold remnant church leaders to be raised up who will not compromise, but will present clear, Bible-based and unapologetic presentations of the Gospel and the “whole counsel of God” (Acts 20:27-30).
  • That God would raise up genuine prophetic voices, filled with the Holy Spirit of wisdom and anointed speech, to boldly proclaim the truth.
  • For conviction to be great in the Church, that pastors would repent of all that is ungodly and be transformed in heart to embrace a God-honoring and holy lifestyle – and would lead their congregants to do the same.
  • For Spirit-born strategies to creatively evangelize, care for and disciple the lost, especially embracing those who are typically rejected by most churches.
  • For the whole Church to be knit and bound together in love, unafraid and unashamed even in persecution and bold to stand for Christ all the more. 

International Prayer Points

Persecution of Christians

November 2 is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. It is an important call for the global church to remember and pray daily for our persecuted brothers and sisters. As fierce persecution grows against Christ’s Body, we can also remember with hope that nothing will overcome or stop the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

May we especially lift up the believers in Nigeria, Mozambique, Russia, China, North Korea, Great Britain and India, where persecution is especially aggressive and cruel right now.

Please pray for:
  • The bold advance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, with signs and wonders following.
  • Laborers to be sent in every nation to proclaim the Gospel where the needs are greatest.
  • Grace, peace, courage and protection for all Christians facing persecution today.
  • Conviction to fall upon the persecutors, and for many to turn to salvation in Christ.
  • Those who have let others bear the burden of the Gospel being preached to rise and become bolder witnesses for Jesus.

WORLD MAP

We continue this month recording World MAP’s Foundations for Ministry teachings on the Holy Spirit. We have felt the resistance to the completion of this timely and important series, so we covet your prayers.

Many Shepherd’s Staff shipments are still enroute and clearing customs in multiple nations this month, threatened by severe weather and other obstacles. Thank you for interceding as you are led by the Holy Spirit!

To all of our USA and Canadian friends celebrating the blessed season of Thanksgiving, and also to those beyond, we thank the Lord upon our every remembrance of you. Thank you for partnering with us. It means more than words can express.

Conclusion

We live in profound and unusual days of God’s visitation and His story unfolding. Therefore, let us rise above the world’s chaos and empty pursuits, and as the hymnist wrote:

Rise up oh men of God! Have done with lesser things.
Give heart and mind and soul and strength to serve the King of kings!

“The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Mt 9:37,38)

As we enter the season of harvest, it is a good reminder to revisit an important command in the Bible given by Jesus. We find in His command one of the “Keys of His Kingdom” for world evangelism: That His people constantly and consistently pray for laborers who will hear and respond to the call of God to preach the Good News to every person.

This text implies that there are already laborers who need to be “activated” – called, directed, released and anointed for their assignments. Our intercessory prayers can help release that activation!

We also see another promise implicit in Jesus’ command: That we pray for laborers to be sent into the harvest fields of the earth. If God has commanded us to pray for a certain thing, then we can rest in absolute assurance that He will answer!

They Are Waiting

We can be encouraged that more people are coming to salvation through Christ right now than ever in the history of the Church. Thank you, Jesus!

The Spirit of God is being poured out upon the nations with unprecedented signs, wonders and miracles. Yet there are still untold numbers of people living today who have not yet heard the Gospel even once! They do not yet know the Good News of a loving God, and of a Savior Who is waiting to provide His hope and salvation for them.

Laborers are needed who will go and share this Good News; there are also laborers needed to make disciples of those who receive salvation through Jesus (Mt 28:19,20). The pressing need for more laborers is upon us. Entire tribes, tongues, peoples and nations are still awaiting the Good News (see Romans 10:14); and those who have already heard are waiting to be taught and discipled.

Therefore pray that the Lord of the Harvest would increase and accelerate the raising up, anointing and appointing of those who will go – even to the uttermost parts of the earth – to bring the One Hope for this life and of eternal salvation: Jesus Christ!

International Prayer Points

1. UGANDA

National elections are on the horizon and, among many important issues, will decide who is to be President. Uganda has recently experienced sporadic violence due to Islamic terrorism.

Please pray for:
  • Supernatural peace to cover the nation in this election season: before, during and after.
  • Men and women of moral character and righteousness to be elected to key positions.
  • That all corruption and deception would be exposed, and that the elections would be fairly enacted.
  • The plans and devices of the devil and evil men to be bound and thwarted.
  • A continued and expanded freedom for the Gospel to be preached and for the Church of Jesus Christ to grow in influence and in number.

2. PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS IN SYRIA, IRAN, NORTH AFRICA, NIGERIA, INDIA CHINA, GREAT BRITAIN 

Persecution takes on many forms for Christians in these nations and others. It ranges from loss of employment or education to loss of homes, churches and lives. From law forbidding public expression of Christian faith to forced conversions to Islam.

There is social and familial pressure as well, and torture and massacre. Christians are the most persecuted group in our world today.

Please pray for:
  • Believers to remain steadfast in their faith, and even strengthened in spite of the opposition.
  • Christians to remain bold in their witness, whether persecuted or not.
  • Christ followers in all nations to pray without ceasing, fervently and aggressively doing spiritual warfare, especially on behalf of the persecuted.
  • The Lord to change the hearts of each king and ruler, “like the rivers of water, turning it wherever He wishes” (Prov. 21:1).
  • The persecuted around the world as you are led to by the Holy Spirit.

WORLD MAP

After completing a busy fall seminar season, work continues on video recordings for World MAP’s Foundations for Ministry series, and many other projects.

Even now, there are thousands of Shepherd’s Staff books in multiple languages that are in cargo containers traveling the seas to various global destinations as we restock our partner distribution centers. Please pray for safe transport, easy and sure clearance through customs (without unnecessary fees), and swift and secure delivery to the intended distribution centers.

Conclusion

When we pause to contemplate the size of our world and the immensity of the task of reaching each and every man, woman and child with the Gospel, our faith may dwindle and we can feel overwhelmed.

Yet we must remind ourselves of the One to Whom the task ultimately belongs – and the power, majesty and wisdom of our God Who is on the throne! We can then declare with faith: “There is nothing too hard for You” (Jer 32:17, 27); “For with God nothing will be impossible” (Luke 1:37); and “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God” (Luke 18:24-27). If He calls us to do it, He will grace us and make us able!

Because you believe these things to be true, join us as we let our faith rise and pray with fervency. Let us ask our God, Who can do the impossible and Who joyfully and eagerly awaits our prayers, to raise up laborers who will go to every tribe, tongue and people of the earth with His Gospel of the Kingdom!

IMMEDIATE PRAYER REQUEST!

World MAP is in Nepal this month! From September 4-19, Dr. Frank and team will be traveling and conducting two seminars in outlying cities of Nepal. This will allow those with the least opportunity for ministry training to be part of World MAP seminars. Pastors from the mountains and jungles – serving in some of the most challenging locations – will be given transportation to travel in and participate.
     
Every participant will also receive World MAP’s newest edition of The Shepherd’s Staff – the Nepali language version! This will provide years of training and teaching material for each pastor and their congregations.

It cannot be overstated how important your prayers are for the success and blessing of these events.

Please pray as you are led by the Holy Spirit. Pray for the travel, the team and interpreters, all of the details to come under the lordship and order of Jesus Christ – and for the pastors to travel safely and be readied to receive all that our Father intends for them.

If you find yourself awake in the night during this time frame, it may very well be the Spirit of God prompting you to pray for Nepal and the World MAP seminars taking place during those hours. Thank you for praying for us!  
 

This Month’s Word

“Ask of me and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession” (Ps 2:8).

The entirety of Psalm Chapter 2 is a prophetic Messianic Psalm. The day will come when Jesus, as the King of kings and Lord of lords, will receive to Himself and rule over all the kingdoms of the earth, both physical and spiritual (Rev 11:15).

As believers in Jesus for salvation, we are “heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ” (Rom 8:17; Eph 1:3-23). As such, we have been given a great privilege. This privilege is also a profound responsibility: To be in much prayer, fervently and without ceasing. We are to ask of the Father all things according to His will, and even for the nations of the earth!

  • Some are called to go and must heed that call.
  • Not all can ‘go’, but many can give.
  • Some cannot give, but all can pray!

The ministry of World MAP is made fruitful and effective by the prayers of the saints – YOU! And this ministry fulfills its God-appointed mission by the power of the Holy Spirit and by what the saints so generously supply.

Let us remember that all of this is for one purpose: To bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to all peoples (nations), that they may come to the foot of His throne and acknowledge Him as Savior and Lord, the only One worthy of all glory, honor, dominion and power, forever and ever. Amen!

International Prayer

1. GREAT BRITAIN

Believers in Great Britain are calling for a National Week of Prayer from September 6-14, 2025. This nation is on the verge of spiritual, moral, cultural and civic collapse, and desperately needs a spiritual awakening. When grandmothers are being imprisoned for praying silently in public, or believers are forbidden to gather in homes for worship, something is terribly wrong.

The Holy Spirit is stirring, and many denominations and various Christian groups are gathering for a time of repentance and seeking God, turning from spiritual apathy, religious formalism and unbelief in the established church and throughout the region.

There has been much in the press about immigration challenges in Great Britain (and other countries as well). But what if those coming in were to hear the Gospel, receive Jesus and become impassioned followers of Christ?

Let us join with believers in Great Britain in prayer support of this important week! And continue praying for this country in the months to come.

Please pray for:
  • A mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit, bringing repentance, revelation and revival to Christians and unbelievers alike.
  • The preaching of the Gospel under the anointing of God’s Spirit, with signs and wonders following.
  • The Word of God, the Holy Scriptures, to be preached in full, and with renewed vigor and conviction.
  • “Deadened hearts” that have been made dull by empty, lifeless forms and dead religion to be ignited by the Holy Spirit.
  • The youth of Great Britain – no matter their cultural, racial or religious background – to be drawn to Christ in salvation.
  • All works of darkness, whether demonic or human, that would oppose this move of God to be bound, silenced and made ineffective.

2. WORLD MAP/ SHEPHERD'S STAFF

In an unprecedented year, World MAP has ordered the printing of almost 40,000 Shepherd’s Staff books in multiple languages to supply global distribution partners.  

Most of these books have already been printed, and some are already delivered! However, many are still in transit, so please join us in praying for a safe and clear way of delivery for every order – and for God to pour out provision for this vast undertaking.

Conclusion

As you pray for the nations of the earth this month, please know that you are actively and powerfully participating in “gaining for the Lamb the due reward of His suffering.” His desire is for every tribe, tongue and nation to come to Him in salvation and to spend eternity in the loving presence of our Heavenly Father. Jesus gave us a key to effective, fruit-producing and God-glorifying prayer when He told His followers, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask what you desire and it shall be done for you” (John 15:7).

This key is found in the word “abide” (from the Greek word meno) meaning to ‘live in, dwell, take up residence with.’ This is not a temporary or casual visit, or a passing acquaintance – but rather a deep, intimate, ongoing and life-transforming relationship.

Jesus wants us to abide daily in Him, and He also wants us to allow His Word to abide daily in us. When we do these things, we are transformed. Our desires, our perspectives, our opinions and outlook all begin to take on the same shape and focus as His, the One with whom we intimately live. We see this happen in the natural realm of human relationships (our companions will influence us). So how much more in the supernatural realm of continually communing with the Son of God, and meditating on and studying His Word in order for His character and life to be shaped in us.

When our hearts, minds, spirits – even our bodies – are in line with the will and Word of the God of the universe, we will think more like He thinks, respond more often the way He would, and will ask in prayer the very things that align with His Kingdom and what He desires to grant.

Thankfully, prayer is not an act of wrestling with a reluctant God. It is instead a choice to daily align our lives and desires with the will and words of our King, and then ask of Him according to His Kingdom will.

The key to effective prayer is living and abiding daily in Him! (For further study, read John 14:12-23).

World MAP

1. INTERNATIONAL LEADERS’ SEMINAR
This month (August 23-30), World MAP will travel to conduct an International Leaders’ Seminar in Miami. We will be gathering with pastors who oversee large networks of Latin pastors and churches in multiple nations.

This will be a first-of-its-kind event for World MAP, so thank you for covering this important time in your prayers. The impact on key leaders will affect many other leaders, who will in turn teach and disciple even more people. It is an opportunity for both powerful and exponential ministry!

Pray as the Holy Spirit would lead you. And thank you for praying for divine ordering of every detail, from travel to interpreting, and for provision of every need.

2. NEPAL SEMINARS FOR PASTORS
In early September (Sept 4th-19th), World MAP will return to Nepal to conduct two more Spiritual Renewal and Equipping Seminars for pastors in the outlying areas where few have gone. The need is great for training and equipping, so each pastor attending will also receive their very own Shepherd’s Staff in the Nepali language.

As we plan and prepare, there are always challenges to overcome and opposition to press through, so your prayers are vitally important. In these days of advance preparation, thank you for praying with us for the Lord to order every decision, and to make abundant provision for the seminars. Pray also that the Lord of the Harvest would draw every pastor and leader who should attend, and make provision and a straight way for them to take part. Pray that their hearts would be receptive and readied to receive all that God intends to pour out to them.    

International Prayer

1. THE MIDDLE EAST
Tensions remain high in this part of the world. Let us continue to pray for the entire region.
 
Please pray for:
  • The peace of Jerusalem of all of Israel (Ps 122:6).
  • The Gospel of Jesus Christ to be declared throughout the Middle East with authority, power and “signs following,” resulting in many conversions and the making of strong disciples of Jesus in these nations (Mt 28:18-20).
  • Reconciliation to flow between the descendants of Ishmael and Isaac in order to further spread the Gospel (Eph 2:11-18).

2. NORTH AFRICA
Increased Islamic terrorism against Christians in this region of the world is bringing horrific devastation, destruction and death. The loss and suffering is immense, so our prayers are much needed.
 
Please pray for:
  • For the binding and casting down of every evil and demonic principality and power wreaking havoc in these nations, especially those of lawlessness and false religion.
  • That the Gospel would continue to be boldly preached and would spread, and that even terrorist “Sauls” would be converted to “Pauls” for the sake of the Gospel.
  • For comfort, peace, protection and provision for believers in these lands, and that their governments would be moved to end the violence and persecution.

Conclusion

Into our hands, our loving Father has placed keys to Kingdom life. Prayer is one of those “master keys” that unlocks so many wonderful aspects of living in this world as a Christ-follower. Let us use this key of prayer with bold confidence as we are led by His Spirit to ask of the Father in Jesus' almighty name, and believe Him to move according to His will and mighty power.

NOTHING IS HIDDEN BUT US!         

This is the final installment of the four-part study in Colossians which reveals the great things available to believers who follow Christ sincerely and are found in Him (Col 2:6 to 3:4).

We studied the first three principles in prior editions of Prayer Corps, which are:
1. We are rooted and built up in Him (Col 2:6,7 – see April 2025).
2. We are complete in Him (Col 2:8-10 – see May 2025).
3. We are alive in Him (Col 2:11-15 – see June 2025).
In this edition of Prayer Corps, we will study the fourth key principle:
4. We are hidden with Christ in God (Col 3:1-4).      

This final truth sums up this important letter to the fledgling Colossian church. The three previous principles moved us from salvation (rooted and built up), to the certainty of our completion in Christ (complete in Him), to the amazing fact that we are eternally and powerfully alive in Christ!

Then, the Holy Spirit reveals that we are hidden in Christ, and goes on to give us practical exhortation about how to live this out in both the church and the world.

Resurrection Life

The premise of this final principle is two-fold. First, we have died to the old order of our ambitions, values, politics and judgments of this world. We still live in the world, but in Christ we are no longer subject to, or part of, this world (Col 2:20).

Second, because we have been raised with Christ, we are called to participate in the power of His resurrection life. This means that though we must live in this world, we are to die to our own selfish ways (Gal 2:20). We now have Christ’s power to use the things in this world in a new and living way: instead of lording over others, we serve; instead of taking, we give; instead of living for ourselves, we live for Christ and His purposes to be fulfilled through us.

Thus, our lives, interests and efforts are to be centered fully in Christ. Our minds are to be set first upon seeking God’s Kingdom and His will, and how we can demonstrate the Kingdom in and through our lives. If we judge anything in this world, we do so in the heavenly light of the Cross and the empty tomb.

Hidden But Not Hiding

To be hidden in Christ does not mean we are to run away and hide from the world around us. This mindset is based on fear, and not aligned with the call to be “salt and light” to those around us (Mt 5:13-15).

It does mean that because we are hidden in Christ, we do not need to fear the enemy of our souls, for he and his strategies were defeated at the Cross (Col 2:14,15). The blood and authority of Christ covers us, and His grace and strength will carry us through. And even when the temptations, trials and tragedies of this life come, they will be used by our Lord to form in us His victorious and overcoming character (Rom 8:28,29; Jas 1:2-5,12).

When we fully surrender our life to Jesus Christ, we are completely secure in Him! We are promised that, “no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand” (John 10:27-30).

This promise is then sealed with a guarantee – the Holy Spirit of God, given to us as a pledge of our full and complete salvation (Eph 1:13,14). Hallelujah!

Hidden In Authority and Power

Since we have died to the things of this world and are secure in Christ, our lives are now “hidden with Christ in God” (Col 3:3). But where is Christ ‘hidden’?

The Holy Spirit reveals that Christ is seated at the right hand of God above every rule, authority, power, dominion and every name in heaven and earth (Eph 1:20,21). But it does not stop there. We who are Christ’s are, “raised up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Eph 2:6).

Because of what God has done through Christ, we are seated with Him in a position of authority and power. Thus, each and every one of us is called to be:
  • Built up into a royal priesthood, a kingdom of priests, serving and worshipping forever our King, and leading others to do the same (1Pet 2:5; Rev 1:6).
  • Authorized and empowered with all that we need as ambassadors for Christ to bring the message of our King wherever the soles of our feet may go (2Cor 5:18-20; Acts 1:8).

Hidden Only To Be Revealed

The Holy Spirit then sums it all up: “When Christ Who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory” (Col 3:4).

For the Christian, the most important thing in life is Jesus Christ. More to the point, He is life itself. No other relationship, philosophy or achievement compares to our Lord and the life we have in Him. Our life is not only with Christ, but it is Christ! (Phil 1:20, 21; Gal 2:20)

We also have the blessed hope that Christ will appear a second time. When He comes again in great glory, He will call His sons and daughters to, “appear with Him in glory.” In this life, we may be hidden from the notoriety of this world. But when our Lord and King comes, we who have loved His appearing will be transformed by His glory, and will rule and reign with Him through all eternity! (See 2Tim 2:12;  Phil 3:20,21; 1John 3:2)

So let our prayers be bold, and our praises ring out and declare the wonders of His love, mercy and goodness!  

Prayer This Month

1. PEACE
Sometimes, the most obvious prayer needs are the most vital. And prayers for peace in our world – that are sustained, fervent, and persistent – are clearly needed in this hour. The battles of good vs. evil are raging, while the spirits of anarchy, lawlessness and violence manifest.

Prayers for God’s peace in our strife-torn world have an ultimate purpose. Certainly, peace and the moral order that comes with it and sustains it are worthy goals. But as Christ followers, the peace given by our Prince of Peace (Jn 16:33) serves an eternal purpose – to spread the Gospel in a more effective and swift manner, that all may hear of the true and lasting source of peace, Jesus Christ.
Please pray for:
  • The peace of God to be poured out on the nations, and upon individuals.
  • The demon spirits of lawlessness and anarchy loosed in our world to be bound and silenced.
  • God to raise up bold prophets, pastors and evangelists to declare God’s Word, God’s righteous order, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our cities and the nations.
  • Ungodly and rebellious leaders to be converted to Christ, or made completely ineffective and replaced by those who will obey and follow Jesus.
  • Christ followers everywhere to rise up and pray, interceding fervently for the nations and the spread of the Gospel.
2. WORLD MAP
a. Tens of thousands of Shepherd’s Staff books in multiple languages are still in production (printing, binding, shipping). These will be going to pastors with the greatest need in the places with the least available. So thank you for praying for the swift completion and safe transport of these vital ministry training resources.

b. In August, World MAP will be gathering Spanish-speaking pastors in Florida who have influence in many nations. They tell us that the Spanish church leadership around the world has little biblical training, and are vulnerable to error and imbalance. So this seminar will be beneficial for them to train and equip those they serve around the world to advance fulfilling the Great Commission. Thank you for praying now for the preparation of the seminar details, provision for every need, and for the hearts of the pastors and leaders to be prepared for all that God desires to do.

Conclusion

What a glorious salvation! We can live this life in Him, and enjoy all of the great things provided to all who sincerely follow Jesus Christ. And our eternal destiny with Him will be even more glorious!

So let us pray earnestly, serve diligently, and lift our voices boldly to share His glorious Gospel – so that when He comes for us, we will bring many more with us to greet Him in glory.

ALIVE FOREVERMORE

In the prior two editions of Prayer Corps, we studied what is available to us, as followers of Jesus Christ, in Him (Col 2:6-10). We are both “rooted” and continually being “built up” in Him. We are also “complete” in Him, needing no additions to the fulness of life and victory He gives, and our eternity with Him that is to come.

The third truth of what we have in Him is that He has made us “alive together with Him” (see Col 2:11-15). This most-foundational truth for every Christ follower is one that we should embrace with a tenacious joy!

The Basis of our Salvation

We already learned about the many false teachers present in Colossae, seeking to capture and “spiritually plunder” the churches. Prevalent among these heretical teachers were those with a Jewish background who were pressing the disciples of Jesus to add full obedience to Old Testament Laws (such a circumcision) as a condition of being saved.

Paul first dismissed physical circumcision as a necessity, because the believer in Jesus already has a superior form of circumcision – one that separates us from the, “sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ” (Col 2:11; Rom 2:25-29, 6:6).

Paul then continues to remind the Church that water baptism is so much more than just a religious ritual. Rather, when water baptism is combined with sincere faith in Christ, it is a powerful declaration of our joining with Christ’s death and resurrection unto everlasting life (Rom 6:4; 1Pet 2:1). This is a glorious truth for every follower of Jesus Christ!

Taking a Step Back

The Holy Spirit, through Paul, takes us through the painful reality of a spiritual “prequel” as to what necessitated the awesome display of God’s triumphant mercy in Christ. Paul uses vivid pictures to reveal the truth of every human’s spiritual condition, and what Christ did for us.

First, simply but dreadfully put, all people were dead in their sins (Col 2:13; Eph 2:1-3). No matter how hard someone tried, there was no changing this condition. There was no way to atone for it or ever make it right. Truly, we all were, “having no hope and without God in the world” (Eph 2:12).

But this hopeless condition was confronted by the love and power of a merciful God, who did for us what we could never do. He put life into dead people by the work of Christ at the Cross and the empty tomb: “He has made alive together with Him [Christ], having forgiven you all your trespasses.” Hallelujah! Ten thousand times hallelujah throughout all eternity!

But How Can This Be?

Paul goes on to describe the certificate of self-admitted debts against us, as decrees condemning us for our sin (Col 2:14). The Greek word used in this passage is the equivalent of an I.O.U. that is signed by our own hand and acknowledges our inescapable debt.

But Christ! He wiped out this debt, cancelling it by the payment of His own blood, having nailed it to the Cross just as He was nailed to the Cross. With His amazing mercy, Jesus banished the record of our sins so completely, it is as if it had never been. We who were aliens and strangers from the presence of a holy and loving God have now been, “brought near by the blood of Christ” (Eph 2:13).

Yet There Is More

The payment for all sin – including yours and mine – has already been made. The door to eternal life in God’s Kingdom is now opened to ALL who will call upon Jesus for salvation. We who were inescapably dead in sin are now made alive in Christ! Yet, there is even more victory that was sealed at the Cross.

We all know we have a vengeful and merciless foe, Satan. He with his demons must have rejoiced at Christ’s death, assuming they had won a great victory. But they did not realize they were witnessing their greatest defeat!

At the Cross, all of the usurped authority that Satan had stolen through his deceit in the Garden (Genesis 3), and the subsequent power over mankind he wielded through death (Heb 2:14,15), was “stripped” away from the demonic realm. This word means that our God unalterably removed all the authority and power that Satan wielded over mankind!

This picture was familiar to the people of Paul’s day. It is the real-life example of a conquering Roman general who had won a great victory against an enemy. He would march with his victorious troops through the streets, followed by his utterly vanquished foes who had been stripped of their armor, weapons and power.

The very instrument that our Adversary the devil had attempted to use to conquer God the Son was the same instrument God used to destroy the power and works of darkness! At that moment, our Almighty God through His Son put the enemy to open shame and utter defeat (1Cor 2:8).

This powerful passage shows us the total adequacy of the work of Christ on the Cross. Truly, it is finished! Our indelible sins are forgiven, evil and death have been conquered. There is nothing more that is needed or can be added, but to receive the incredible free gift of His salvation. We have been made alive in Christ – joyfully, powerfully, eternally in Him!

Prayer This Month

1. NIGERIA
The persecution of Christians is reaching new heights. One Nigerian pastor writes that extermination, kidnapping and violent displacement of the Christian population is so widespread that, “we risk becoming the last generation of Christians in Nigeria.” This massacre goes largely unreported, and the government is doing nothing to stop it – but rather punishes those who attempt to defend themselves.
Please pray for:
  • The continuing spread of the Gospel and conversion of Muslim terrorists and bandits who raid and commit atrocities.
  • Courage, strength, wisdom and protection for the Christians there.
  • International leaders to rise and press for protection and change, as well as for a change of government leadership in Nigeria.
  • The global Church to awaken to the dire need of Christ-followers in Nigeria and other persecuted nations, that they might pray, give and even go to see nations transformed.
2. INDIA-PAKISTAN CONFLICT
These two nations have had long-standing tensions, primarily focused on the disputed territory of Kashmir. But recently, the conflict has boiled over on both sides with limited armed clashed from both nations. The religious component adds to this, as India is becoming more radicalized in their Hinduism, and Pakistan is dominated by Muslims.
Please pray for:
  • An immediate cessation of all armed hostilities (both nations have nuclear weapons).
  • Both governments to agree diplomatically upon the historically contested Kashmir area.
  • The Gospel of Jesus Christ to continue to make strong inroads into both nations.
  • Protection, grace, wisdom and boldness for Christians in both nations, to be able to witness to their countrymen – for nothing truly changes until hearts are changed by Jesus!
3. WORLD MAP
We are anticipating with great joy the World MAP pastors’ seminar taking place in Quito, Ecuador later this month. God has been going before us and making wonderful provisions and is opening doors. Your prayers are fruitful! But there is still much to be done.
Please pray:
  • That the pastors’ hearts would be open and prepared for the work of God’s Word and His Spirit, and He would draw each one who needs to attend.
  • For the Spirit of God and warring angels to be loosed, to crush the spirit of religion and the disunity that resists and plagues the churches in Ecuador, which keep them from realizing God’s fullest Kingdom purposes.
  • For traveling grace and mercies for the team and all those involved, for God to make a straight and smooth way before us and to keep us in safety and health.
  • For every detail to be perfectly ordered by the Lord, including locations, equipment, food, translators and all other matters related to a fruitful time together.

Conclusion

May we go forth with singing, worshipping Jesus who sits upon His everlasting throne. He has conquered our worst foes, and in Him we are alive forevermore!

“NO ADDITIONS NEEDED”

In the April Prayer Corps, we studied the main theme of Colossians: the preeminence of Christ. We saw powerful truths regarding what we have available, and are called to be, as followers of Jesus. And each truth is anchored, validated and made possible by these profound words, “in Him.”

I wrote about a key to help us be found “in Him” – being spiritually “rooted and built up in Him” (Col 2:6-9). We learned it is from Christ alone, the Vine, that we receive all we need to grow and be sustained in our life.

As we continue this study, we will look at the second key of four found in Colossians: that we are to be “complete in Him” (2:10; 4:12).

The Background

Though this letter, by tradition, is addressed to the church at Colossae, there were a number of churches in the immediate area: Colossae, Hierapolis and Laodicea, with many more scattered throughout Asia Minor. They all shared in common a Jewish presence, as well as Greek, Roman and pagan tribal populations and cultures.

The letter to Colossae was known as a “circular letter,” as it was intended to be shared with the other churches in the area, as were other letters held by the community of Christ followers (see Col 4:16).      

The churches were all experiencing the same challenges and pressures, including false teachers and evil influences. Specifically, Gnostic teachers claiming special revelations and knowledge, and Jewish leaders demanding that their laws and traditions be observed. Both groups were pressuring the churches to adopt their ideas, philosophies and rituals in order for people to be “truly saved.”

Clearing Away Additives

Into this confusing tangle of competing influences, the Holy Spirit gives clarity by revealing the motives of these outside groups (Col 2:8-10). These false teachers and their heresies are seeking to, “capture you in order to make you their plunder.”

These would-be robbers (pirates) are attempting to control and mislead the Christians by forcing their philosophies, traditions and occult practices into their simple faith in Christ. Their position is that the person of Christ and His work are not sufficient for salvation in this life or the next, and thus, that Jesus is not fully God.  

The Spirit of God clearly denounces these charlatans: “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead [the nature and person of God] in bodily form” (2:9). This means that nothing should, or can be, added to the Person of Christ or the work He has done at the Cross – for all humanity, for all time – which opens the way of salvation by grace through faith in Him alone.

Complete In Him

Because all the fullness of God is in Jesus Christ our Savior, His followers do not need spiritual or religious “additives” in order to be complete in Christ or in our salvation.

The Church today faces the same temptations and worldly influences as in the days of Colossae. They are driven by the same demonic forces and selfish human brokenness.

Many compromised teachers declare we need something more: more faith, correct confessions, proper declarations in prayer, or to give more – in order to capture us into their schemes, and attempt to coerce God into doing what we want.

Add to that the worldly voices and culture that want to change the Bible, demand “tolerance” (accept as normal) of sin, or force upon us empty religious rituals to earn or demand favor from God. Sadly, not much has changed with the unredeemed human condition.

Victory In Him

But thankfully, this challenging world does not have the final word on the subject! As we are “complete in Him,” the Bible also declares that Jesus Christ is the victorious “head over all rule and authority” (2:10). Thus, by putting our complete faith and trust in Him alone, and by our submission and obedience to Him, we too share in that same victory! (Rom 8:31-39)

It is true that life on this broken planet may not go as we expect, and it can be painful and crushing. But no matter what, in Christ, we still have the victory! In Him, we are made complete, and He uses it all to transform us more into His glorious likeness and image (Rom 8:28,29).

If you have Jesus, and He is your all in all, you have all that really matters!

Prayer This Month

1. NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER 
May 1, 2025 is the National Day of Prayer. The theme is, “Pour Out to the God of Hope and be Filled,” and the key scripture, “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Rom 15:13).

Though this is a USA event, I strongly encourage you to pray for your own nation as well.
Please pray for a powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit:
  • Upon your nation, to bring true and lasting repentance from sin and a turning to Jesus.
  • To bring revival to the Church as people repent and seek God’s face.
  • That signs, wonders and miracles will multiply to convict the unsaved of the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and draw a great Harvest in salvation.
  • Upon government rulers, to expose and remove evil and establish righteousness.
  • That all disciples of Jesus, especially pastors and church leaders, would welcome and be filled afresh with the Holy Spirit.
2. THE PERSECUTED CHURCH
Please continue to lift up persecuted Christians around the world, especially the believers where persecution is intensifying: Syria, Bangladesh, India, Sudan, China and Myanmar.
3. WORLD MAP
World MAP will be gathering pastors for seminars in Quito, Ecuador in late June.

Please pray:
  • For pastors’ hearts to be prepared and hungry for the work of the Word and the Spirit.
  • For the Spirit of God to be poured out and crush the spirit of religion and the disunity that resists and plagues the churches in Ecuador, keeping them from God’s Kingdom purposes.
  • That all details would be perfectly orchestrated by the Lord, including locations, equipment, food, travel and all other matters related to a fruitful time together.   

Conclusion

In these days, cling to Christ alone. Spend much time with Him, seek Him, walk with Him, be found in Him – for truly there is nothing greater than living our life in Him!

In Him: Our Life, Our Hope, Our Victory!

This month, as we commemorate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, I was prompted to share a tender yet powerful truth.

When Paul wrote his letter to the Colossians, it is clear that as the Holy Spirit “breathed out” His Word into Paul’s mind and heart, the focus was to reveal the preeminence of Christ in everything (Col 1:15-18).

However, this short book of Scripture also exhorts every disciple of Christ to allow our lives to reflect, display and reveal Christ’s preeminence within each of us.

How is it possible for ordinary mortals to do this? Four clear truths in this epistle reveal how we can and must live [presented in Prayer Corps now, and in the next three months]. They all rest on the simple yet profound phrase: “in Him.”

Rooted and Built Up in Him

Paul presents two pictures (Col 2:6,7): One is of being “rooted”; the other of being “built up.” Both of these well-chosen metaphors communicate what should be our relationship to Christ. Our entire life is to be lived in a welcoming and intentional pursuit of His presence within us.

“As you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk [lead your life] in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him.”

To be “rooted” begins at salvation, when our life is first established in Christ. It conveys the idea of firmness, or being fixed in place. As we grow in Christ, our spiritual roots go ever-deeper into the soil of His presence, and then from Him we draw essential nourishment – the life of His salvation, power, wisdom and love – through the Holy Spirit.

Being “built up” indicates a solid foundation of a house, placing one layer upon another. It is an exceedingly strong foundation because it is built “in Him,” upon Jesus the Rock and His unchanging nature and Word.

Both of these terms, being rooted and built up, are powerful truths to lay hold of for every Christ follower. For the strength of our life, our foundations and our roots, are not in ourselves. Nor are they in doctrinal positions or religious habits. Rather, they are in the strength of Christ Himself. He alone is the true source for our lives, and the foundation of our stability and peace.

Through the Storms

We can all attest to the fact that life on this planet is difficult at best. And we know that Jesus did not come to make us “happy” or provide us a life of ease and comfort (Lk 9:23-26). His ways are much higher, and His purposes much more everlasting!

This is well illustrated by one of the parables of Jesus (Mt 7:24-27). He gave us a clear choice about whether we build our lives upon Him alone – or not.

The reality of this life means that we will all face times of storms, floods, howling winds and shaking. One choice regarding how we build our life will lead only to destruction, no matter how grand or splendidly built by worldly standards.

The other – choosing to be rooted in Christ alone and built upon His Word and presence, even if humble and seemingly unadorned – will weather every storm and give shelter, peace and safety to all those within.

We can firmly stand on this promise of God, both in this life and eternity to come, since it is backed up by the Lord of the universe (see also Ps 1:1-3; Is 44:1-2).

Truly, all we need in this life will only be found in Him.    

Prayer This Month

1. PAKISTAN
In prior years, World MAP has conducted many pastors’ seminars and given out Shepherd’s Staffs in Pakistan. Sadly today, violence is increasing and has become so pronounced that the US State Department has raised the travel warning to Level 3.

There was a recent terrorist train hijacking that resulted in passengers, troops and even terrorists all being wounded or killed – and hostages taken. Christians face persecution and discrimination, but these brave saints still pray for terrorists to come to saving faith in Jesus.
Please pray: 
  • For a cessation of violence against Christians, other minority groups, and the government.
  • That many, many people would come to know Jesus in these challenging days in Pakistan.
  • For boldness to share the Gospel, protection and wisdom to be poured out upon Christians.
  • As you are led by God’s Spirit!
2. SYRIA
Despite a change in government and promises of change, violent persecution of Syrian Orthodox Christians is on the rise. Muslims who convert to Christianity are considered apostate and face death sentences. And Islamist jihadists are murdering both Christians and Muslims.
Please pray: 
  • For Christ-followers to be encouraged, strengthened and emboldened to share the Gospel with friends and neighbors; and for their physical needs to also be met.
  • For an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in signs, miracles, dreams and visions to reveal Jesus to Muslims (they have a deep regard for dreams and visions as signs from God).
  • That those in authority would keep their promises to promote peace and stability.
  • For the international community to intervene to stop the violence and persecution.
3. WORLD MAP
  • Key Meetings – Our World MAP USA Board will have its annual meeting on April 5. Thanks for praying for us! And, in late April, Dr. Frank will meet with key Spanish-speaking church leaders from around the world. Pray for vision for all nations to be born in their hearts, and for God’s divine favor and connections for future ministry partnerships.
  • Seminars in 2025 – Plans are still underway for Pastoral Equipping and Renewal Seminars in Ecuador and Nepal, and a first-time seminar for key international Spanish-speaking pastors. We make plans, but we depend upon the Lord’s direction for our steps (Prv 16:9). Thank you for praying for us and for these strategic gatherings.
  • The Shepherd’s Staff [TSS] – To meet increasing demand, World MAP will print almost 45,000 TSS in 2025 alone! We need your prayer covering for God to order every part of these massive print orders, the shipping around the globe – and provision for all costs.

Conclusion

Jesus speaks to you and I today: “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the Kingdom” (Lk 12:32). Therefore, standing firmly in Him, be strong and of good courage as you are filled with and display His glorious presence!

March 1 is the beginning of Ramadan. This month-long Muslim holiday is marked by devotion to their god Allah, self-discipline and reflection. Daily, from dawn until dusk, Muslims fast from food, smoking and drinking. They serve huge pre-dawn buffets, and the same after sundown.

Though originally intended to build community, purity and faith, Ramadan has sadly become an excuse for many to perpetrate terrorism and violence worldwide. For others, they find themselves searching for a God they do not know, and looking for assurance of an everlasting salvation they do not have, regardless of what the Quran teaches about earning their salvation through works.

An Opportunity

All of this presents an ideal time for Christians to pray fervently for the worldwide salvation of Muslims. The Church of Jesus can also make efforts to creatively reach out to Islamic people within our communities.

Below are some strategic ways to pray for Muslims during this month of Ramadan.

Please pray:
  • For the Holy Spirit to give dreams, visions and miracles to Muslims in order to reveal Jesus Christ and His love and sacrifice on the Cross for their sins and failures.
  • For more awareness of the emptiness and futility of Islam in order to compel them to be open to the Gospel.
  • That Muslims would meet and befriend bold Christ followers who would share their faith with anointing and wisdom.
  • For protection over Christians living in Muslim nations, and that they would strive to share the Gospel and see Muslims saved and converted.
  • For supernatural intervention to thwart acts of terrorism and persecution, and for the conviction of the Holy Spirit and the fear of God to come upon any attempting violence.
  • That wise and practical strategies would be given by the Spirit of God to the Church, and that many would reach out to Muslim neighbors and communities.
  • For Spirit-led churches to be established in Muslim communities, and that the churches would grow and multiply for sustained outreach.

Your prayers are vital and can be effective in breaking down the strongholds of Islam. Consider putting this prayer list in your Bible or where you will see it, and also copy it and pass it on to others. It can be used beyond the month of Ramadan to pray for Muslims year-round.

Jesus died for and loves every Muslim, in every tribe, tongue and nation. He desires their salvation. So let us pray them into the Kingdom of the One True Savior and God!

Prayer This Month

1. CONGO
To our horror, in late February, there were 70 Christians – men, women and children – brutally murdered in the Congo (DRC) by an ISIS affiliated militant group. They were rounded up and taken hostage, then moved into a local church building where they were tied up and violently beheaded.

Open Doors reports that 90%+ of the DRC population claims to be Christian. But in recent months, Islamist militants have stepped up acts of persecution in the northeastern part of the country in an attempt to form an Islamic caliphate. There is little to no reporting about this persecution, or about the horrific murders of 70 Christians.
Please pray:
  • For the Holy Spirit to comfort, strengthen and encourage those who’ve lost loved ones, and for the whole Christian community to not despair, give up hope or retreat from their faith.
  • That the international community, both governments and the media, to report and to move into significant action to stop this wave of persecution and violence against Christians.
  • For the binding up of the demon spirits of violence and murder that work in and through Islam, fomenting persecution and violence to expand their dominance.
  • That the Gospel would be preached by bold witnesses, bringing truth and opportunity for salvation to Muslim peoples around the world, but particularly in Northern Africa.
  • Against the spirit of antichrist that is raging in the world today, and for God to raise up His righteous standard against every strategy and evil foe being released.
2. WORLD MAP
  • Seminars in 2025 – Plans are being set for World MAP Pastoral Equipping and Renewal Seminars in both Ecuador and Nepal, as well as a first-time seminar for key international Spanish-speaking pastors who will gather in the USA. We know that man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps (Prv 16:9). Thanks for praying with us for His clear direction!

  • Shepherd’s Staff – In process are more than 20,000 TSS books in 5 languages for distribution in both India and Nepal; as well as 10,000 TSS books for the Philippines. Thank you for praying for swift acquisition of paper; excellent printing and binding; and for provision to come in for this important work to be completed over the next months.

  • Video Teaching Series – This month is specifically dedicated to continuing the recordings for the hours of teaching about the Holy Spirit and His Work. Please pray for fresh anointing and excellent production of this World MAP Foundations video/audio series!  

Conclusion

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Yet, He is, “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” So let us thank the Lord that, “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved!” [Rom 3:23; 2Pet 3:9; Acts 2:21]

While enjoying conversation with a beloved brother this week, we briefly talked about the massive shifts taking place in North America. And I was struck once again by the miraculous sovereign working of our Almighty God.

Between Light and Darkness

We are living in unprecedented times of change in both the spiritual and natural realms. As Christ-followers, it is important that we clearly see the absolute difference – and unbridgeable division – between that which serves and promotes light, and that which is enslaved and in bondage to darkness.

God will use this clearer and higher perspective to help direct His Church to realize both what we are becoming and what we are then to do to fulfill our God-given mission in these days.

The changes we see happening in the natural realm are significant, but they are secondary to God’s spiritual use of them to serve a much higher and more eternal purpose.

God's Focus and Purpose

I believe this is a time that God has purposed to mature His Church. It can be a time of great spiritual, moral and practical growth for all sincere disciples of Jesus. Our Lord is coming back for a Church that is glorious, without moral compromise, and unwavering in its true mission and call, walking in step with His Spirit and His Word (Eph 5:26,27).

And His purpose, mission and call for us remains unchanged even in this hour: To share the Good News of Jesus Christ, using every method He has provided, with anyone and everyone as we prepare for His great return!

God is Greater

The onslaught in the past few years of spiritual oppression and darkness, with its moral and spiritual deception and confusion, has served to awaken Christians. In response, there has risen a great groundswell of prayer and intercession, and a crying out to God for His mercy and divine intervention. And thus, a shift is happening.

It seemed we were on the verge of tumbling into an abyss of evil and destruction, but God has given us a sovereign reprieve. Praise the Lord!

However, this is not a time to sit back in spiritual apathy, or desire days of ease and prosperity for our own selfish purposes. Our enemy’s strategy has not changed, and he is unrelenting in his desire to kill, steal and destroy all that is good. But our God is greater than any enemy we might face, and He still has important work for us to do (James 5:6,7).

Signs of Victory

We must use this God-given window of time wisely. We can find encouragement that God truly is at work by recent events that have taken place. Though some have been painful to see, others have been glorious and exciting! Here are just a few Spirit-born indicators that God is sovereignly moving in these days:

  • A number of spontaneous revivals have broken out in secular universities and colleges.
  • Recent purchases of Bibles and New Testaments has skyrocketed.
  • Unrighteousness is being uncovered in the Church, as well-known leaders have had to step down from positions of influence. Though painful, God has promised to cleanse His Church first (Jas 3:1; 1Pet 4:17) as He prepares us to fulfill His greater purposes.
  • There are arising many new bold, Spirit-anointed, Bible-preaching leaders in the Church, and even in government, sports and entertainment.
  • Blinders are falling as many begin to finally see unrighteousness, deception and sin for what it is. Keep praying for these to repent and be drawn fully to Jesus in salvation.
  • People from every tribe, tongue and nation are coming to saving faith in Jesus Christ! As multitudes turn to Him, God is showing Himself faithful to yet another generation.

Hallelujah! These victories and many more are taking place now, as God is moving by His Spirit!

What Does This Mean For Us?

Victories are being won and vicious strangleholds of the enemy are being loosened. But our mission has yet to be completed.

As you pursue God’s heart and vision for our world and for your own life, let Him work in you by His Spirit and Word, and through you in the world around you. Add to this consistent, fervent prayer, and be bold to share your faith and testimony with anyone who will listen (1Pet 3:14-16).

Let us work together while it is day (Jn 9:4) to fulfill our Lord’s eternal and glorious mission!  

Prayer This Month

1. CHRISTIANS UNDER PERSECUTION
Though persecution continues globally, it has exponentially increased in three places: India, Iran and Nigeria. Believers are being tortured, kidnapped, imprisoned, even murdered. Huge fines are levied to financially cripple Christian communities. Yet, believers continue to serve Christ, hold services (some secretly), and share the Gospel at great price.
Please pray for:  
  • Persecuted believers to stand firm in their faith, hoping in Christ and preaching the Gospel by the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 4:29-31; 1Co 16:13,14).
  • God’s grace and protection, including for women and children (Ps 82:3,4).
  • Believers to have grace to forgive their persecutors and win them to Christ (Mt 5:44).
  • World leaders with wisdom and courage to impose order and protection (1Ti 2:1,2).
2. ISRAEL AND THE GAZA STRIP
An uneasy truce has been negotiated, but could swiftly return to violence and open warfare.
Please pray:
  • For the truce to be uninterrupted, and for all hostages to be returned safely.
  • That Hamas would be completely deposed and ejected from Gaza.
  • For an “effective door” to be opened for the Gospel, that both Jews and Muslims would come to Jesus Christ in salvation.
  • An outpouring of the Holy Spirit to bring peace, righteousness and salvation to this region.
3.  WORLD MAP
  • Seminars in 2025 – Plans are being adjusted, so please pray for the Holy Spirit to guide and establish the Lord’s direction for this year’s seminars.
  • Shepherd’s Staff – With tens of thousands of Shepherd’s Staff needing to be printed, please pray for availability of and no delays with paper, as well as finances for the expenses.
  • Video Teaching Series – Thank you for praying! Great progress is being made on the newest teaching series on the Holy Spirit. Pray for strength, wisdom and fresh anointing! 

Conclusion

We have an amazing privilege to be our Lord’s hand extended to our world, to be His light in darkness and His voice to speak His Word and Gospel. So let us pray and speak and go!

Direction For This Year

As is true in every nation on earth, the battle between good and evil rages daily. This very real and extremely consequential spiritual warfare takes place in governments, tribes, nations, the Church and even within the hearts of people.

We can observe some important aspects of this spiritual reality in the most recent elections in the USA. Despite the fact that there was no political party or individual completely righteous or without fault, the battle reflected a number of critical moral and economic issues.

Unmasking the True Enemy

The real battle was not between candidates or in political rallies. It is clearly spiritual in nature. Demonic principalities seek to dominate regions or nations. In America, the demon spirit of Jezebel (1Kings chapters 18-21; Rev 2:18-20). has long been welcomed and ensconced in the nation's capital. Some of the marks of the presence of this spirit are rebellion, hatred of biblical morality and genuine spiritual authority, sexual perversion, deception, undue control, fear and the worship of death. It is often accompanied by lawlessness and anarchy, violence and mindless hatred.

What can oppose such ferocious evil? And what can be done to counter its satanic purposes from being established and becoming ‘lord’ over a nation and its government?

Of course, we know that Jesus defeated all powers of darkness at the Cross (Col 2:15-14). And our Almighty God opposes every work of darkness and will ultimately do away with the demonic kingdom and all its work forever (Rev 20:10).

God's Chosen Instrument

But before that great (and inevitable) Day of the Lord, the primary instrument God has chosen to counter spiritual darkness and establish His Kingdom rule on earth is His Church!

This does not mean institutions or denominations, but it is His Body – those who are born again Christ-followers living in yielded surrender and obedience to, with faith and sincere love for their Savior, Jesus the Son of God.

Genuine Christians are to take up spiritual battles in prayer! We saw this happen during this past USA election season, and the believers worldwide who fasted, interceded and prayed experienced a more righteous outcome than they otherwise would have. Thank the Lord!

Weapons of Warfare

After this important election, many breathed a great sigh of relief and lifted praise to God. And rightly so! And hopefully, a better and more righteous government will be established.

But the real battle for the USA, and many other nations who will follow their lead, is still ahead of us. Our adversary, the devil, never takes a day off. He, and those disposed to his purposes, are already scheming to regain power, authority and control.

The Holy Spirit’s words to us in one of Paul’s letters (Eph 6:10-18) spell out critical truths for believers, and especially apply to us in this new year ahead.

We are exhorted to take a firm and unyielding stand (vs 13, 14) as we take on the spiritual armor of God. This powerful armor, however, goes beyond our personal protection as we look at all that God has given us: ...praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this and with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints (v 18).

The Valley of Decision

Take notice of how many times the Spirit uses the words “always” and “all” in verse 18. Add to that the repeated emphasis to be “watchful” and have “perseverance.” These carefully chosen words point us to one vital thing: PRAYER!

Now is the time to press once again into fervent prayer. We have rocked the enemy back, and we must not let the demonic adversaries regain solid footing.

This is an open opportunity to beseech Heaven for revival in our land, in order to usher in and establish lasting righteousness in the hearts of people through the saving power of Jesus Christ! Remember, real change only happens when hearts are changed; and only the Lord can transform a human heart.

God’s desire is not for the rule of a political party or particular personality, since politics can never establish the Kingdom of God. Only prayer (Mt 6:10) and a bold and righteous Church (Mt 5:16) can welcome the power and presence of God’s Kingdom rule!

As the Body of Christ, it is our decision – and our privilege and responsibility – to rise up in this hour to “pray without ceasing” and take back what the enemy has tried to steal. May we be found faithful to fulfill the destiny and calling God has given to us in these days!  

Prayer This Month

1. AMERICA - Please pray for:
  • Ongoing righteousness and biblical morality to be unhindered and established.
  • The binding and removing of demonic forces, and those who perpetuate evil agendas, from the government and nation.
  • True repentance and revival in the Church, and the raising up of an entire generation of leaders who will boldly and vocally stand for biblical righteousness.
  • The mercy of God to be poured out, bringing many to repentance and salvation – especially the prodigals, and those opposed to Christ.
  • Peace and order to be established in the USA and many other nations facing unrest.
  • A peaceful transition of power in the government of the USA, and that any evil plan of the enemy to disrupt or delay would be thwarted and unsuccessful.  
2. VENEZUELA
The country and its people have been deeply oppressed by a socialist dictatorship for many years. They are scheduled to have a presidential election in January of 2025.
Please pray:
  • For an honest, fair and legitimate election, and for any and all fraud and deception to be quickly revealed.
  • That peace and order would reign, and the election held without violence or bloodshed.
  • For the current government to be replaced with a democratic one.
  • That corrupt and violent leaders would be removed, and righteous order established.
3.  WORLD MAP
  • Seminars in 2025 – There are a number of very significant opportunities in several nations. Pray for God to establish His best and highest as we strategically consider these events.
  • Shepherd’s Staff – As demand keeps rising, several language versions need large quantities printed. Pray for quick provision of paper and the funds needed to complete these projects!
  • Video Teaching Series – We continue work on the Foundations video/audio teachings about the Holy Spirit and His Work. Please pray for this essential teaching series! 

Conclusion

There is only One Who hears and answers the cries of people. Let us be faithful ‘pray-ers’ and take every opportunity to pray always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given…

  • His conception and parentage was viewed suspiciously …
yet, it was Divine in origin.
  • He was born into poverty …
yet, wealthy rulers revered Him.
  • He was sought out as a babe to be murdered …
yet, God’s hand delivered Him.
  • He grew up as a common laborer, working with His hands …
yet, those same hands brought sight, hearing, healing and deliverance to all.
  • He was hated by many …
yet, loved and worshipped by uncountably more.
  • He never traveled far, and was not educated by the scholars of His day …
yet, His Word, His teachings, have called forth life where there was none, have shaped nations, and will stand for eternity.
  • He was innocent, though hung upon a Cross to be killed as a criminal …
yet, this death was the key that opens the door of His eternal Kingdom to anyone who calls upon Him for salvation.
  • His life, and His troubling but life-changing ministry, was thought to be ended …
yet, just three days later …
And the government will be upon His shoulder, and His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government there shall be no end, upon the throne of David and over His Kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this (Isaiah 9:6,7).

What a life! What a Savior! And what a season, as we celebrate once again the birth of Jesus Christ, our glorious Lord and King and the Hope of every nation.

Prayer This Month

1. AMERICA
A momentous election has just taken place in the USA, and the results were clear and conclusive. A multitude of Christ-followers around the world bowed in humble and fervent intercession over this election and for the USA, a nation that is so influential. We witnessed a divine intervention, and thank the Lord for His mighty grace that we certainly do not deserve.

And while the outcome has brought relief and hope to some, it has also brought fear and anxiety for others. But regardless of political affiliation, or the win or loss of candidates, we know that those things will ultimately not give people what they truly need – revival of the Church and the salvation of the lost!

The Scriptures reveal a mighty principle that is still true today: If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land (2Chr 7:14).

It seems God has given the USA a reprieve. But an inherit danger still exists: The temptation to rely on the government to establish righteousness, peace, prosperity and justice, or mistakenly think they will fulfill the role to care for the poor and widowed, the orphan and the broken.

We know that only ONE can truly provide the blessings that follow righteousness – and Who can provide salvation, transformation and eternal life to all those who call upon Him.

That same Jesus has also called His Church to very clear mandates of being salt and light, to make disciples of Christ, and to care for the less fortunate in our society. We are His hands extended, and His ambassadors, who also hold the great treasure of the Gospel in our earthen vessels which is to be poured out on whomever we encounter.

So now is the time for all followers of Jesus to re-double our prayers, seek His face and boldly ask for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven! Politics will never bring Christ’s Kingdom power and work. Only the King of the Kingdom can do that – and only His Body can fulfill their highest calling to work with Him according to His Word!

Our King will respond to His children’s steadfast and persevering outcry to Him, that He might extend His presence, power and salvation both to the Church and others in the USA. 
Please Pray For:
  • The continual pulling down, binding up and exposure of every plan and effort of demonic principalities whose hold over the USA has been loosened, but that are still present to attempt to regain power and thrones of evil.
  • The exposure and removal from office of those who have given themselves as tools and instruments of evil, and ultimately of Satan and his agenda.
  • A continued cleansing of the Church and its leaders, through repentance, surrender and a renewed hunger for the Lord, His full Word and His righteousness.
  • Christ-followers to receive a baptism of love and compassion for those who are deceived, lost, resentful of God and resistant to commonsense right order [not tolerance of sin, but reaching them where they are, then showing them a better way through Jesus].
  • God to raise up His prophetic voices that will call the Church to rise up and be all they should be according to the standards of Scripture.
  • A renewed and undiluted Gospel presentation to be raised in the USA, and in its churches.
  • The outpouring of God’s Spirit upon the Church, and even those in authority in the government, for a renewed repentance and revival of commitment to Christ.
2. ISRAEL, UKRAINE
Keep these nations in your prayers for peace and a cessation of all warfare and hostilities; for the return of all hostages; and for the Gospel to go forward in power among civilians, soldiers and even terrorist groups. May God turn the evil intentions of men to His purposes and glory.

Conclusion

In the natural, He entered our world as a mere babe and was placed in a worn and soiled food trough meant for livestock.

Now, He is born anew in any human heart – even those hard-worn and stained by sin – that will welcome Him as Savior, King of kings and Lord of lords!

May He also be born afresh in our hearts in this season as we celebrate His magnificent birth into our benighted world.

Where there is no revelation [vision], the people cast off restraint; but happy is he who keeps the law (Prov 29:18)

We live in days where much restraint has been cast off in both the culture and the Church. A compromised vision and message from many church leaders has produced compromised faith in the people. This has led to a lack of fidelity to both Jesus Christ and the full Word of God.

The answer? We must pray for true revival in the Church! Righteousness will not happen in government, education, business and media until there is genuine righteousness – revival with repentance – in the Church.

It is through a revived and repentant Church, with each believer walking in holiness and obedient commitment to our King, that God will bring His salt and light to our decaying culture and societies.

We know it is our primary mission to love the lost and broken as we reach out to them with the Gospel. However, the Bible is clear that we must first “love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength,” without compromise and with obedience to Him alone. Then, and only then, can we properly love our neighbors the way Jesus would, and in a way that will truly make a difference in their lives (Matt 22:37-40).

His Chosen Instruments

“You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world…” (Matt 5:13-16). These are the truths that Jesus spoke to His disciples. These are the same truths that the Holy Spirit is speaking to us today.

Are you hearing His voice? Do you believe Him enough to take daily action upon those truths? Jesus’ final instructions to all of His followers should remain our first priority in life each and every day.

All people everywhere ultimately ask the same questions: Why am I here, and what is my purpose in life? We, as believers, should also be asking (and answering) those same questions!

Jesus’ last instructions – commands – to us make the answers to those questions clear. We are His chosen instruments to bring the Gospel of His eternal Kingdom to every person we know or meet (Matt 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8) so they can also know why they are here and the purpose for their lives: To know Jesus and to make Him known!

Time Is Short

There is no question that we are in a time of great worldwide change and upheaval. We can choose to remain in our homes, fearful and watching the news. Or, we can make news of eternal worth by sharing the Good News of eternal life and peace through the salvation offered only by believing in Jesus Christ.

Is the end upon us? Maybe. But this I know for certain: Eternal life that is filled with immeasurable joy, life and peace will only begin the moment a person receives Jesus as Savior. And for those who refuse His salvation, certain separation from God awaits them in this life and in eternity to come.

Believers in Jesus have the key that can open His Kingdom salvation, through our bold message of the Gospel. It is God’s will that all people should repent and call upon Him (John 3:16; Acts 2:21). But how will they know unless they hear? They must hear this message in order to believe on Christ for salvation (Rom 10:14,15).

So let us remember afresh that WE are the messengers, the “ambassadors for Christ” (2Cor 5:20). Be bold and speak His Word to any who will hear. God will take your words, your prayers, your love and your service and shoot them like arrows into the hearts of those who do not know Him to draw them to salvation.

Prayer This Month

1. ISRAEL AND THE MIDDLE EAST
Please continue to pray for peace in this region of the world. Pray for Israelis, Palestinians and all Arabic peoples to come to know Jesus, the only Prince of Peace.

Pray also for the local Christians in these countries, that God would give them strength, courage and wisdom to boldly proclaim the Gospel under the anointing power of the Holy Spirit – even in the midst of the ongoing conflict.

2. INTO ALL THE WORLD
Let us pray together for the Lord of the Harvest to accelerate the raising up and sending out of church planters, those who will go into every corner on earth, reaching every village, tribe, tongue and people group.

The jungles of Peru, Amazon, Congo and India; the desert regions of the Sahara, Gobi and Arabic peninsula; every island and every continent – all these places and more still have tribes and villages of unreached peoples.

It may be hard for us to imagine, but nearly HALF of the world’s 8.1 billion people have never heard the name of Jesus or His Good News of salvation for them.

The need is so very great, but our God is greater! He has never asked anything of us He will not enable us to do. So, since Jesus commanded that we go into all the world, He will help us do just that! May we be found praying, sending and going in these days. And may we continually, “Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send forth laborers into His Harvest” (Matt 9:38).

3. NEPAL
The first-ever World MAP seminars in Nepal that concluded last month were wonderful! And handing out the Nepali language Shepherd’s Staffs to the pastors for the very first time was also wonderful! You can read more about the great time we enjoyed in the World MAP DIGEST coming in the mail this month.

Thank you SO much for your prayers and support that make this important training possible for pastors in nations with the least opportunity. They are willing to reach their nations with the Gospel, despite severe persecution. But they just need help with what to do and how to conserve that harvest of souls! You are providing that help, and we are humbled to partner with you.

Conclusion

“And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness” (Acts 4:31). Amen! May this be so in us, and in every church that names Jesus as Lord!

He who has ears to hear, let him hear! (Luke 8:8)

It is true that we all have ears. But as some of us can attest, they may not always work as well as we might like.

But when Jesus so emphatically used the phrase, “ears to hear,” He meant something far deeper than the level of our physical sense of hearing. We can look to King Solomon to help illustrate what Jesus was saying to us.

Solomon's Big Ears

The Bible records the beginning of the extraordinary reign of King Solomon (1Kings 3:4-14). In this account, the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream to ask an amazing question: “Ask! What shall I give you?” (v.5).

Solomon could have asked for anything. But realizing the enormous challenge of being king, he asks the Lord this: “Therefore, give to your servant an understanding heart, to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?” (v.9). The Lord was pleased with Solomon’s request and abundantly and supernaturally answered it.

Of particular note in Solomon’s request is the phrase, “an understanding heart.” The Hebrew word for ‘understanding’ is somal, which means a “hearing heart.” This makes complete sense when realizing what it was that Solomon was actually asking!

A Heart That Hears

This heart-type of hearing goes beyond listening to simply acquire information or knowledge. Rather, it has a moral aspect and a component of godly character that allows one to have insight. This is not insight just to know things and be impressive. But insight to aid and guide one in making proper distinctions as to how one lives their life, in order to be a consistent and true source of moral understanding and guidance for others.

This kind of “hearing” is one of practical use and application to rightly conduct our lives before the King of kings. This is certainly the essence of discernment, that gives rise to wisdom. Ultimately, it is the right application of judgment based solely upon God’s perspective of right and wrong. [You can see Solomon’s God-given “hearing heart” in action in 1Kings 3:16-28.]

Improving Your Hearing

This biblical concept of understanding goes beyond our intellect and human limitations. It does so by a primary focus and reliance upon God’s revelation of Himself – His character, His will and His purposes – to our hearts.

Thus, any true point of understanding begins with revelation by the Holy Spirit, which includes first what has already been revealed in the Word of God. As we read it, we can hear His voice with our “hearing heart” as He reveals to us Who He is, how to live, what is true, and how to perceive the world we live in through the corrective lenses of Heaven’s realities.          

It is important to be able to hear clearly! How, then, can we improve our hearing to maximize our understanding? Here are just a few basic and practical ways to develop a hearing heart that is devoted to God:

  • In order to hear, one must be listening (Luke 8:8). God is always willing to speak to us. But our part is to take the time to tune out (or turn off) all the other voices so that we can be more sensitive to the Lord’s voice. His voice is often a quiet impression or thought. It is “still and quiet” on purpose. This is so that we will come before Him, lean in close to Him and not be distracted away from all that we can receive in His presence.
  • In order to hear, you must be seeking (Luke 11:9-13). The Bible instructs us to keep asking, seeking and knocking until we hear from Him. We were created for relationship with God. Our time of prayer is about taking the time to talk with God, not just talking at Him! He wants to hear from you, and He wants you to wait in His presence long enough to hear from Him as well.
  • In order to hear, it must be the focus of your heart (Matt 6:33). Casual or infrequent seekers rarely find the hidden treasures of great value. Seeking “first” means hungering and thirsting for God and His Word as your top priority, not just getting quick answers to requests. [Some scriptures for meditation and further study: Ephesians 1:17-19, Colossians 1:9-12, 2:2,3; James 1:5-8, 21-25.]

Sheep's Ears

Jesus gives us simple, practical and profound wisdom for finding safety, security and confidence in this life (John 10:1-6). The world today is full of many deceptive voices. So it is imperative that we know how to hear our Chief Shepherd’s voice in order to not be led astray. And, so we can also help lead those around us to follow the only true Shepherd who loves us and gave His life for us.

May we be found striving daily to have a hearing heart, and not be among those who, “did not understand the things which He spoke to them” (v.6).

Prayer This Month

1. ISRAEL
Please continue to pray for the nation of Israel and the burgeoning unrest in the Middle East. Pray in the Spirit and with your understanding, as you are led. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, according to the Word of God.

2. RWANDA
In the past few years, the Rwandan government has placed two major restrictions on churches. The first was that the senior pastor must have a formal degree in Theology, in order to help stem the tide of harmful heretical teachings. Sadly, most Rwandan pastors do not have the option for formal training. Second, there are now stricter standards for the physical conditions of meeting places. This has caused unsustainable financial burden for most churches except the large churches in cities.

Unfortunately, the net result is that the Rwandan government has closed more than 6,000 churches!

Please pray:
  • For the raising up of trustworthy and affordable Bible schools for Rwandan pastors.
  • That supernatural provision would come to those churches that need to make required upgrades to their facilities.
  • For encouragement and Spirit-led direction to those whose churches have been closed.
  • That ministries would catch the burden to help meet the needs of the Rwandan churches.

3. NIGERIA
Profound and deadly persecution of Christians by Nigerian Muslims continues to escalate. The current government is aware of these atrocities, but is unresponsive. More than 50,000 people have been murdered (martyred) since 2009 simply because they are Christians.

Please pray:
  • For protection, hope and encouragement for the Nigerian believers, many of whom have lost family members and providers, and who still face severe persecution.
  • That Christians in Nigeria would hold tight to the Lord and their faith in Him, and not abandon their beliefs; and for the Holy Spirit to be poured out to give them courage.
  • For radical Muslims to be saved; and if not, for a cessation of their violent behavior.
  • That the Nigerian government would administer justice for all of its citizens, and begin to mitigate this persecution.
  • For other nations to rise up and put pressure on the Nigerian government to protect the Christians in this nation.

4. UNITED STATES
Some would say that the November elections in the USA are the most important in our lifetime. They have shown themselves to be a raging battle of good against evil, death vs life, freedom vs bondage to governmental controls, even communism.

Please continue to pray, fast and call upon God to do what only He can do! And most of all, pray that in this season there would be great revival and an outpouring of the Holy Spirit to save this lost generation and set them on fire to reach the nations of the world with the Gospel! (2Chron 7:14).

Conclusion

On the mount of transfiguration, God the Father declared: “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!” (Mark 9:7). God will speak to you today if you are ready to listen – with your whole heart – for He loves you with an everlasting love and cares about all that concerns you.

Guidance For Our Times

"Therefore, I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority…” (1Tim 2:1-2a).

The timeless words above were inspired by the Holy Spirit, and written down by Paul the apostle to the Church at a time when Nero, the emperor of Rome, was persecuting Christians in vicious and deadly earnest. These important instructions still speak volumes to us today as we witness global unrest, moral confusion and political upheaval.

Regardless of circumstances, the Almighty God counsels us to keep praying and interceding – even giving thanks – for all people and for our leaders. And may I add, especially for those with whom we intensely disagree!

Paul goes on to exhort and instruct, “I desire that the men [and women] pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting” (1Tim 2:8).

Peace Amidst Chaos

These powerful verses place within our hands the “Kingdom keys” for how to do more than just survive, but to flourish in challenging days! We are called by God to be His instruments used to establish His will on earth as it is in Heaven.

  • First things first – PRAY! As followers of Christ, our approach to everything, every single day, is always to pray first. Before we are tempted to worry, criticize, complain, doubt or be anxious, we must reaffirm our trust in God and His gracious and loving sovereignty by talking to Him about it all. We need the perspective of the One who knows everything, and also cares for us. Prayer opens our spiritual eyes to give us a fresh and clear revelation of Who God is, and what His will is in any given situation.

  • Second, PRAY! The Lord can use our prayers, when led by the Spirit and aligned with His desires and plans, to move mountains! He can even change the very heart and direction of kings and all who are in authority as we intercede for them (1Tim 2:2; Pro 21:1). So may we take that time we might spend reading about them or listening to the opinions of pundits, and instead pray fervently for those in authority - in order to loose the hand of God to move with His divine wisdom and righteousness. And remember that we are far better off when we choose to hold off on our criticism, mockery or disrespect of leaders, since it displeases the Lord (Exo 22:28; Acts 23:1-5; 1Pet 2:17).

  • Third, PRAY! Daily, intentional prayer that is aligned with God’s will and comes from fully-surrendered hearts will guard our minds and hearts from fear, anxiety and anger. We will instead walk in the supernatural peace of God (Phil 4:4-7) as a powerful testimony of His power to the many living in a state of turmoil and uncertainty. This will open the door to our most important assignment, to show the world that there is only One way, One truth, One life that offers true salvation and hope in this life and the life to come! (1Tim 2:3-6).

  • Finally, PRAY!  We are to “pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands.” More than a style of prayer or physical position, this reveals that we hold our hands up to God in worship and trusting surrender to His complete Lordship in our lives. No matter what. There is no leader or person, in their frailty and brokenness, who will ever be adequate to provide what we really need in this life. Our open hands of worship to God keep us from grasping for human solutions or material things for our security. Our open hands also give to God our temptation to shake a closed fist in wrath or hold onto unforgiveness to those we are against. Let us instead choose to lift open, holy hands to God in worship, prayer, intercession and thanksgiving every day!

**** Time Sensitive Prayer Request for World MAP! ****
 
WORLD MAP NEPAL SEMINARS!

On September 14, the World MAP team leaves to conduct World MAP Pastor’s Seminars in Nepal. The trip will be Sept 14 – Oct 3. PLEASE BE PRAYING FOR US!

These events have been years in the making, and include a godly contact with a heart for Nepal, as well as a volunteer team that has translated the entire 1000-page Shepherd’s Staff ministry handbook into Nepali! World MAP has since printed 5,000 of these vital training manuals, and they are now in Nepal awaiting distribution. We anticipate these books to be a catalyst for great growth of the church in Nepal, as it has been in many other nations.

This month’s seminars in four separate cities in Nepal will not only be first-time events for World MAP, but will also be the first time a pastor will receive a Shepherd’s Staff in Nepali. So the excitement is off the charts!

It is estimated that only 2-4% of the population in this Hindu-dominated nation is Christian. Subsequently, there is much natural and spiritual opposition to the Gospel that includes:

  • Government opposition due to non-conversion laws in place.
  • Radical Hindu gangs coming in from India to commit dreadful acts of violence.
  • The welcomed and active presence of demonic powers using deception and evil religious practices, and much actual demonic oppression and possession of the people.

‘But God!’ In spite of the opposition, God is doing mighty things in Nepal! The truth and validity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is being attested to through signs, wonders and miracles of healings. Jesus Christ is being lifted up, the only Way to salvation, freedom and eternal life. The growing church in Nepal needs leadership training in order to be ready to disciple the Harvest!

Please Pray:
  • For a mighty outpouring of God’s Spirit upon each seminar and attendee.
  • That the Holy Spirit will strengthen, encourage and bring revelation-understanding of God’s Word.
  • That every pastor’s heart would be prepared, open and hungry to receive from the Lord.
  • For every strategy of hell set up to stop or oppose these seminars to be bound and cast down by the blood and authority of Jesus, as well as a halt to any and all government or religious opposition.
  • That no leader would be kept from attending, and divine protection and provision would be theirs as they travel to and from the seminars.
  • For a Spirit-led unity of relationship for the pastors, with a new vision of Christ’s purposes for the Nepali church, and how to practically fulfill it together.
  • For safe travels for the team, as well as anointing upon the teaching of the Word and increased sensitivity to the Holy Spirit in ministering to all in attendance.
  • For spiritual covering, protection and health for the ministry team and pastors, as well as open heavens to surround them and break through any evil oppressive forces; and prayer for the many logistics of travel to four in-country locations, for open and straight paths and Spirit-ordering of the logistics for each seminar.

MORE PRAYER THIS MONTH …

There has never been a time or election season like the current one. A conflict rages for the “soul” of this nation, with a spiritual battle of demonic forces of death, division and hatred raging against anything and anyone with a biblical worldview and/or who names Jesus as Lord and Savior. America’s days of influence, power and prosperity may well be numbered, as the reason for God’s blessings wain in a culture no longer interested in obedience to God and committed to fulfilling His Kingdom purposes.

Continue to pray for supernatural peace; for truth to be exalted, and lies and liars to be exposed; for a self-indulgent and rebellious generation to be humbled and brought to Jesus; the binding of demonic spirits of Jezebel, Ahab, lawlessness, greed and perversion to be driven out from both the church and the land; for a new generation of church leaders to be raised up who “love nothing but God and hate nothing but sin,” and will lead the church in the power of the Holy Spirt to be about the Father’s Kingdom business; for a new generation of political leaders as well, who will honor God and His Word and be true servants; the entire truth on many issues to become visible to all, with nothing hidden in shadow; against nefarious and evil global agendas and those who want to impose them; and for righteousness to rule in the actual voting process of the elections.  

May God’s best and highest choice be the next President of the USA. Though America deserves judgment, He may instead show mercy – and only He knows exactly how that will be done. Either way, may we continue to fulfill our mission to fully declare the Gospel of Jesus Christ to this nation and to the ends of the earth!

Conclusion

Around the world, our brothers and sister in Christ face immense persecution and challenges. Thank God that this world is not our home. Yet, while we are here, we can also be grateful that our lives are in the hands of our faithful and loving Creator in whose arms we will one day rest for eternity.

Prepping For His Coming

Jesus made it clear that He is returning one day. And every generation has had reason to believe that it might be in their lifetime.

Today, the signs and fulfilled prophecies about the days of His return are ever-increasing, so there is understandably much talk and interest in the timeline of Jesus’ return. Though no one knows when that will be, we certainly know that every day that passes is another day closer to His return!

Without doubt, Jesus is coming back – and I believe it may be soon! But for what/whom is He coming back? Is Jesus returning for anyone and everyone that has walked through church doors? Or who says they are a Christian? Or for prominent church “leaders,” or those who faithfully follow them?

A Wrong Focus

Unfortunately, many look to well-known “leaders” for guidance and spirituality, especially the popular speakers and influencers. Recent publicized moral failures of many celebrity church leaders has revealed that they are mere people, with the same weaknesses, temptations and limitations as the rest of us. Many are compromising God’s Word and watering down the biblical requirements of a true disciple of Jesus Christ, leading multitudes astray.

The problems revealed are two-fold. First, the “celebrity-value” can often attract individuals to the pulpits who are drawn to fame, power and position, rather than servanthood. Add to this their pursuit of wealth (prosperity doctrines), big crowds, book deals – turning the sanctuaries of God into money-changing market places that extort funds from the gullible with false promises of “blessings” and are used to fulfill a leader’s self-serving ambitions.

Second, people often encourage this celebrity approach by choosing to watch, follow and support the online or TV “stars,” instead of being part of a nearby group of believers where they can grow spiritually and become disciples who are taught to use their God-given gifts and abilities to minister to the saints and bless others (even those outside the church), according to the scriptural pattern.

Responding to Failures

The recent downfall of many notable leaders in the Body of Christ has brought sorrow and discouragement to many. Sadly, it has also brought gloating from some who know the Lord, and from those who do not. And they use that as an excuse to continue in their rebellion against God and the Gospel (Ro 2:21-24; 1Pe 2:11-16, 3:15,16).

As believers, to rejoice in the failures or weaknesses of others (especially those we do not like) is not only un-Christlike, it is warned against in the Bible (Pr. 24:17,18). Jesus taught that to condemn others when we ourselves are sinners exposes us as hypocrites (Mt 7:1-5).

I do not believe that our King takes pleasure in the uncovering of sin and human weakness in church leadership (Ez. 18:23; 33:11), and our understanding of our Father’s ways needs to adjust our minds to “Kingdom thinking.”

Are We Being Prepared?

But could it be that these recent exposures are actually the hand of God preparing His Church for His return?

We are told that Jesus is returning for a “glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish” (Ep 5:25b-27). We are warned, “For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the Gospel of God?” (1Pe 4:17).

When God exposes sin, He does so as an act of mercy! By bringing failures into the light, it is always for the purpose of leading people to repentance and transformation. Through our  heartfelt repentance, He begins the process of redemption, healing, deliverance and a restoration to right relationship with Himself and others (2Co 7:9,10).

God’s judgment upon sin exposes what is blocking and hindering both individuals and thus, His Body, from reaching its full potential. His divine design is that the Church would glorify Christ, and be the instrument through which His Kingdom is made manifest on earth, thus becoming a powerful testimony and blessing to the world.

As the Lord’s judgments begin in the House of God, so do His blessings – and His genuine blessings always follow a repentant heart.

What We Can Do

Jesus came, “preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled and the Kingdom of God is hand. Repent and believe in the Gospel’” (Mk 1:14,15). So let our hearts, minds and actions be shaped by what Jesus preached as the essential steps we must take if we are to be Kingdom disciples who are ready for His appearing.

  1. Repent – For the believer, repentance from sin is not a one-time thing. It is necessary every time we fail. Repentance is more than sorrow over sin. It literally means to turn away from sinful behavior, and turn toward God. And every time we do, God will forgive and cleanse us (1Jn 1:9).

  2. Believe – Though we can intellectually acknowledge the truth, we must be so convinced of Who Jesus is that we daily take action upon what we believe about the Gospel. Read the Word of God daily and feed on its unchanging truths, in order to not be deceived by the rampant evil and confusion of our day.

  3. Walk – Take steps to live out what you believe and know to be true; the more you rise and live to the standards of Scripture, the further your life will be from sin and compromise (Gal 5:1).
      
  4. Be filled with the Spirit! – Not one of us can live a godly life without help, and we have the Holy Spirit to do just that. God gives liberally fresh fillings of His Spirit to any who ask (Lk 11:9-13; Ep 5:18), and that includes His power, discernment and wisdom.

  5. Be Humble – Live humbly before God and others. We are all in dire need of His grace and mercy, so live, talk, pray and act with humility (Ps 130:3,4; Micah 6:8).

  6. Worship – As we worship the King of the universe, everything will be put in right perspective. He seeks those who will worship Him in “spirit and truth” (Jn 4:23,24) and His presence will inhabit the place where He is welcomed in worship (Ps 22:3).

  7. Pray – The nations desperately need the Lord. Pray for His Spirit to be poured out on all people, and that the Lord of the Harvest would send forth laborers (Mt 9:37,38) to gather a great harvest in these days. Also pray:

a. For the Church to be cleansed of all compromise, wickedness and demonic doctrines, and to be prepared for the coming of the Lord.

b. That leaders in the Body of Christ will strive for holiness for the sake of the Gospel, and come to understand that fruitfulness in ministry is people being transformed into the image of Jesus and fully reflecting the presence and character of Christ in their lives (2Ti 4:1-5).

The principles above are not new ideas. Jesus expects us to obey and do that which He has already revealed in His Word (see the parables in Matthew chapter 25, and Luke 12:35-48).

He asks the question, “When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” (Lk 18:8). This faith is not about nominal church membership, but is an active, vital and living personal relationship with Jesus that is full of trust, obedience and faithfulness to Him. Faith in Him for everything is what He desires from us, and when He returns these are the ones He will be seeking.  

Prayer This Month

1. GLOBAL PRAYER  

You are well aware of the current global unrest, conflict and confusion that is occurring around the world in these days. Would you please focus your prayers on the following three particular points of intercession this month.

Please pray about:
  • The horrific sexualization and growing perversion of Western culture. What occurred at the opening ceremonies of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France, only accentuates the onslaught of demonic twisting and preying upon people in attempts to defile and destroy God’s most basic created order for humanity (Gen 1:27). The only answer to this is the salvation and power of Jesus Christ! Pray for the Holy Spirit to bring revelation, repentance leading to salvation, and total transformation.

  • Israel, Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, Iran. Please pray for a cessation of hostilities, return of hostages, and change of governments where needed. Pray for the salvation of terrorists – turning from Saul’s to Paul’s – and for the Jewish people to recognize their Messiah!

  • U.S.A. Elections. The world watches and is influenced by what happens in America. Much is at stake in the elections in November, and also in the months leading up to them. Please pray for peace; for the demonic spirits of lawlessness and violence to be bound; for the entire truth on many issues to become visible to all, with nothing hidden in shadow; against nefarious and evil global agendas and those who want to impose them; and for righteousness to rule in the actual voting of the elections.  

2. WORLD MAP

  • Nepal Seminars – In September, World MAP will be conducting pastoral training seminars in Nepal. In conjunction with the seminars, we have just completed a newly-translated version of The Shepherd’s Staff in Nepalese! Thousands of these books are printed and on their way to Nepal, so please pray for their swift and safe arrival.
    Pray as well for the seminar and travel preparations; for protection against the worsening persecution against Nepali Christians; as well as for pastors’ hearts to be prepared to receive all that the Lord has for them!

Conclusion

The Lord Jesus is coming back for us, and He will fulfill all that He has promised! He is preparing His Church – which includes you and me – for that great Day of the Lord when we will stand with Him unashamed and rejoicing in our God and King!

The Bible foretells coming times of great shaking that will cause “a removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made” (Heb 12:25-27).

This shaking has divine purpose. First, “that the things that cannot be shaken may remain” (v.27). Then, ultimately, to declare and confirm to Christ-followers, “since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and fear. For our God is a consuming fire” (Heb 12:28,29). Nothing escapes His notice or concern.

A Shakeable World

We can all see that our world is in the midst of tremendous upheaval: socially, culturally, politically, and with multiple simmering conflicts ready to boil over into all-out warfare. Though Jesus let us know to not be surprised when we witness such days (read Matthew chapter 24), it can still be unsettling.

The global Church is also facing profound challenges. Persecution of the faithful is on the rise everywhere, even while heresy, doctrines of demons and capitulation to cultural perversity is making inroads into individual churches and whole denominations.

Added to this are the recent and very painful public failures of well-known Christian leaders. Unfortunately, these tragedies are gleefully cited as an excuse to reject the Gospel and condemn genuine followers of Jesus (see Romans 2:21-24).

And yet, in the midst of all the challenges, this shaking highlights for us what is truly unshakeable and of high eternal worth.

Laying Hold of the Unshakeable

Despite all of the negative and discouraging news, we can have hope. For the unshakeable Kingdom of God continues to expand and reach into every corner of this shakable planet! Even in the most Christ-hating places on earth, people are still being saved and baptized in greater numbers than ever before.

So, despite the challenges, let us lay hold in faith to these unshakeable truths:

  1. Hold fast to Christ Himself! No mere man, whether a politician, pastor or other leader, can ever give us the security, hope, life and salvation that Jesus does. Our trust and hope must remain in the Only One Who will never fail us.

  2. Hold fast to the Word of God and His Kingdom! The onslaught against God and His eternal, clear and unchanging Word is great. These demon-inspired attacks remind us how vital, true and absolutely essential the Word of God must be for the spiritual survival and overcoming life of every disciple of Jesus.

  3. Hold fast to fervent prayer! Pray stubbornly persistent prayers, both “with the Spirit” and “with understanding” (1Cor 14:14,15).
    Pray for:
    • The nations to come to saving faith in Christ.
    • Leaders in the Church. They need our spiritual warfare on their behalf, as they are the “tip of the spear” and face much resistance, temptation and discouragement from satanic forces (Mat 26:31).
    • The Holy Spirit to continue His cleansing work in the Church as He prepares the Bride for Christ’s return (Eph 5:25-27; Col 1:22).
    • All Christ-followers to be transformed and redeemed more and more into the image, character and nature of Christ (2Cor 3:17,18; Ps 17:15).

  4. Hold fast to unshakeable faith! Our temporary circumstances must never be the measure of God’s faithfulness nor His love for us. He has promised us His unshakeable Kingdom – so believe it, count on it, and let your life be shaped and guided by it. For we are part of the Kingdom of our unshakeable God and King! Prayer This Month

1. NATIONS OF THE MIDDLE EAST  

The only solution that will bring lasting peace in this region of the world is the Prince of Peace! Please pray for both Jews and Muslims, for soldiers, terrorists, government officials and civilians to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

And pray for:
  • More laborers who are willing to be sent by the Lord of the Harvest to this part of the world (Mat 9:37,38).
  • The boldness and wisdom of Christians in these nations to share the Gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 4:29-31).
  • People’s eyes to be opened and their hearts convicted of their need for a Savior, not just religion (Acts 26:18).
  • Corrupt and oppressive leaders to be transformed by the Gospel, or removed by the sovereign hand of God (Dan 4:34-37).

2. WORLD MAP

  • World MAP Pastors’ Seminars: THIS MONTH, we are in Zambia (July 12-26), ministering to church leaders in cities to which we have not yet traveled. Please pray for the pastors’ hearts to be prepared by the Holy Spirit, ready to receive all that He has for them; for every detail of the trip to be ordered by the Lord; for a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit at each event; safe and healthy travels for all; a lasting, “fruit-bearing” impact in the lives and ministries of every person attending.  
  • Shepherd’s Staffs: Several orders of Shepherd’s Staffs in multiple languages are still in the printing and shipping process. Thank you for continuing to cover these much-needed ministry resources in prayer.

Conclusion

We are part of God’s mighty unshakeable Kingdom! So receive all that He has given to you and go boldly about the Father’s business in these days. Go in the joyful confidence that He is with you, He is for you, and He wants to be glorified through you!

        Take heed, watch and pray, for you do not know when the time is… (see Mark 13:32-37).

In the verses above, Jesus was answering His disciples’ questions (see Matthew chapter 24 and Mark 13:1-4) in such a profound way that it has prompted millennia of study, along with countless interpretations, books, sermons, end-times charts and more.

Today, with all of the global chaos taking place, even more attention is being given to this same subject of the end-times and Christ’s return. And understandably so.

However, the human tendency to make the subject of end times overly complicated can lead to missing the entire point of what Jesus was telling His followers. This may be why Jesus repeats a particular phrase three times (which is always a scriptural indicator of something very important): “watch and pray” (v. 33); “watch therefore” (v.35); “and what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!” (v.37).

Watch for What?

By definition, the word “watch” means to be alert, sober and vigilant about what is happening around us. But in this context, it means a great deal more than simply observing the latest news or adjusting our predictions about the future.

We can observe a lot with our natural eyes. But there is much more to see and know and do when we focus in with our spiritual eyes (Ep 1:18).

Here are three helpful points of “focus” for our spiritual eyes in these days:

1. Focus our Faith – God has given us both natural and spiritual eyes to see the world and the people around us. He has also provided us with powerful “corrective lenses” of His Word to help us see clearly and stay aligned with His vision. Be reminded and refreshed in these views from the Bible:

  • That the world and its ways are passing away (1Jn 2:15-17).
  • That all people are sinners in need of salvation (Ro 3:23).
  • That our God, out of love, has provided for that salvation (Jn 3:16), and anyone who truly believes in Jesus as the Son shall be saved (Ac 2:21).
  • That the harvest of human lives is ripe and ready (Jn 3:35).
  • That Jesus really is coming again for all those who know Him (Jn 14:1-3).
And if we believe these things to be true, what should we then be about?

2. Focus our Hearts – The Lord certainly desires to get, and keep, the attention of His people. Unfortunately, too much of our personal lives and even current “church life” can be mis-focused and mis-spent! Distraction is one of the primary tools the devil uses to keep people’s focus away from what God desires for them.

God is looking for those who are willing to both seek and see what He is doing by His Spirit in our world today, so that we can:

  • Pray in alignment with His will and purpose (Mt 6:10; Ep 6:18).
  • Partner with Him in the fulfillment of His divine plans (Ep 2:5,6; see Ez. 22:30).

The power is His, the ability is His, the wisdom is His. But His eyes look over all the earth for those through whom He can do His mighty work (2Ch 16:9). When He does return, will He find you and I faithfully doing what the Master of the house desires of us? (Mt 24:45-51)

3. Focus our Actions – It is a simple physical truth that wherever our eyes are focused, our body will follow. This is also true in our spiritual lives and direction. So we must:
  • Keep our eyes focused on Jesus! (He 12:2). Resist the temptation to look to human leaders for what only Jesus can provide.
  • Keep looking to Jesus, while also being aware of the wiles and deceit of our adversary (1Pe 5:8,9). We need not fear the devil, but look fully to the victorious One who lives in us by His Spirit and helps us overcome (1Jn 4:4).
  • Stay focused on Jesus, tuning ourselves to His Spirit and Word, so our prayers and our actions will be directed and empowered by His Spirit alone (Ep 6:18).

As we look fully to Jesus, remaining focused upon the Author and Finisher of our faith, our lives and prayers will be far more effective. We will bring our Savior more glory, accomplish God’s will, release the life and power of His Spirit, and see salvation and blessing come to all those we reach and serve in His Name. Hallelujah!

PRAYER THIS MONTH

1. IRAN
Last month, we enlisted your prayers for the Middle East due to the unprecedented missile assault on Israel by Iran. Now in the news is the recent helicopter crash in which the Iranian President and Foreign Minister have died. Analysts predict that the next appointed leaders will continue the same rigid, evil and radical policies. But we know God can change that as we join in prayer with thousands of Iranian Christians who are also praying.

Please pray for:
  • A change of leadership in Iran that somehow leads to a change of policies, both internally and externally.
  • The Gospel to continue to flourish in Iran, with more souls brought to faith in Jesus Christ.
  • A cessation of hostilities toward Israel and all other western nations.

2. ETHIOPIA, ISRAEL, SUDAN
There is much violence and conflict continuing in these nations, with untold numbers of innocent people suffering because of it. Let us pray for a cessation of violence, and that righteous intervention and solutions would come to these countries. Pray for the Gospel to go forth with boldness, even among government officials and other key leaders. Pray that evil leaders being led by demonic spirits will be deposed, and their ideologies that promote terrorism would be cast down.

3. WORLD MAP
  • World MAP Pastors’ Seminars: The World MAP Pastors’ Seminars in Zambia are fast approaching. Thanks for praying now for these events (July 12-26), as well as for the team and the pastors. Pray for the Lord to orchestrate every detail, including travel and all on-the-ground preparations.
  • Shepherd’s Staffs: Large orders of Shepherd’s Staffs in multiple languages are still in the printing process. Thank you for covering these vital resources in prayer.
  • Digitizing Project: Please continue to pray for the near-complete digitizing every language version of The Shepherd’s Staff in order to facilitate broader distribution, both electronically and with physical books printed in many more nations.

Conclusion

“He Who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus” (Ph 1:6). No matter your age or stage, you are still God’s chosen instrument to bring about His will on earth. So pray with boldness, pray with faith, pray with persistence, and pray with hope and joy in the Lord! For He is able to do abundantly more than we can ask or think (Ep 3:20).

        …if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land
(2Chronicles 7:14)

These are powerful words from the Lord to Solomon about God’s people of that day. And today, they still boldly ring true for the people of God (the global Body of Christ).

It seems so much of the Church has lost its way, being shaped by a sin-filled worldly culture instead of rising to God’s call to be the ones to shape the culture with God’s Kingdom values!

In the United States this month, there is a designated National Day of Prayer on May 2, 2024. America, once a beacon of hope and truth to the nations, is quickly becoming a pagan land, and is in desperate need of the prayers and intercession of the saints. Please join with us for praying for the U.S.A. – and especially the Church in this nation.

Though this day of prayer is focused on the U.S.A., I would strongly urge you to expand your intercessions all month long to include all the nations of the “Western world”. This would include North America, much of Europe and the other western nations that have historically had a strong presence of Christianity and the Gospel.

Some Ways to Pray

Please pray often this month for the western world as you are led by God’s wisdom and His Spirit. As the world verges on complete chaos and moral breakdown, it could not be more critical for the saints to pray. Even one faith-filled prayer can make a difference! (Ja 5:16)

May we also suggest two more critical focal points for your concerted intercession:

1. For this generation. I speak of those pressing toward adulthood, essentially 13-25 years of age. They face intense demonic influence, and deep opposition and apathy to the things of God. They have a profound need of salvation, and a revival outpouring of God’s Spirit! We hear reports of beginning visitations and moves of God’s Spirit among the youth. May that spread to a national revival!

Please pray:
  • For spiritual blinders (2Co 4:3,4) to be removed and the light of the Gospel to pierce and take captive all that is resistant to the truth of Who Jesus is and what He has done for every person (2Co 10:4,5).
  • For key ‘influencers’ in social media and secular culture to be dramatically saved and transformed, and to raise testimonies of the saving grace of Christ.
  • For the Holy Spirit to be poured out on school campuses, from middle and high schools through colleges and universities.
  • That God would send forth bold laborers, those unafraid to preach the full Gospel and teach the truth, who will stand publicly for their faith (Mt 9:37,38).
  • For teachers, coaches, professors and administrators to come to salvation in Christ (Mt 9:37,38).
  • That God-born signs, wonders and miracles would accompany the preaching of the Gospel and the outreach of peers to this generation.
  • For the Church to pro-actively love, receive and embrace this newly-saved generation, and to faithfully disciple them to be strong followers of Jesus Christ who love and obey His Word.

2.  For the Church. There is an obvious proliferation of demonic and human pitfalls and temptations (Ro 1:18-32; 1Ti 4:1,2; 2Ti 4:3,4) being invited into churches, with a devastating impact on the spiritual health of the Church. These works of flesh and hell are being exposed, with more exposure coming (1Pe 4:17).

The Bible teaches that the Lord is returning for a Church without spot, wrinkle or blemish (Ep 5:25-27). Though we will never be perfect on this side of heaven, we can be “spotless” before God as we humbly live in right relationship to Him and others, and receive the salvation and forgiveness of Jesus and the covering of His blood. We must also be quick to repent when we fail, being more transformed into the image of Christ, living solely by God’s Word and Kingdom values without compromise.

As we pray for the lost to be saved, let us also pray:        
  • For God to cleanse His House and renew His Church by His Spirit, in order that those who come into the Church are led into righteousness and godly discipleship rather than worldly depravity, compromise and false teachings
  • For personal cleansing and transformation for ourselves, as well as for the Church.
  • For God to raise up leaders in the Church who will preach the whole counsel of God (Ac 20:27) without compromise, speaking the truth in love.
  • That genuine, Holy Spirit-filled worship would become the norm in all of the Church (Jn 4:23,24).
  • For blinders to fall from eyes and ears to be opened, delivering those in churches who are deceived by and embracing the lies of the culture around them that are in direct opposition to the Word of God.
  • For true repentance, humility and holiness to be the heartfelt pursuit of church leaders, as well as all Christ-followers.
  • For a new openness to and hunger for the presence and workings of the Holy Spirit every time the Church gathers. There is so much He will do, that we can never do on our own – so come, Holy Spirit!

There is, of course, much more to pray about as you allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you and lead you. Though May 2, 2024 is designated as a National Day of Prayer, let us continue to lift the needs highlighted above to the Lord in prayer throughout this month, continuing our intercessions daily as we pray without ceasing until Jesus returns!

PRAYER THIS MONTH

1. ISRAEL, IRAN, MIDDLE EAST  
The recent missile assault on Israel marks the first time Iran has directly attacked Israel. For decades, Iran has used its proxies (Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, etc) in many locations to enact violent assaults. Tensions remain high, even as world leaders weigh in and as Israel responded in part to Iran’s attack while still engaged in ongoing conflict with another terrorist regime backed by Iran.

Please pray for:
  • The peace of God to blanket the tensions between Israel and Iran, and throughout the Middle East.
  • Conflicts to subside, and not spread into a regional war.
  • Both Israel and Iran to heed the voice of God and not react with religious fanaticism, national pride, fear and hatred.
  • The continual and rapid spread of the Gospel throughout both nations, in their governments, military and general population.
  • This to be used to gather a great harvest of souls into the Kingdom of God, despite the horrific consequences of this ongoing conflict.

2. OTHER PRAYER HOT SPOTS
  • HAITI: For peace, order, a cessation of violence and the intervention of those who might help bring stability to the country.
  • UKRAINE: An end to the war, the protection of the innocent, and the exposure of what is truly going on with nations and individuals using this war for evil purposes and selfish gain.
  • RUSSIA: The spread of the Gospel, and righteous order and people to be brought into the government.

3. WORLD MAP
  • World MAP Pastors’ Seminars: We head to Zambia in July of 2024, and Nepal in September of 2024. Please pray now for the ministry teams, the pastors who will attend, and for the Spirit of God to direct every plan and detail.
  • Shepherd’s Staffs: The ongoing printing of a large order of Shepherd’s Staffs in multiple languages is underway. Please pray for the swift and successful completion of these books – some of which are earmarked for Zambia and Nepal for the upcoming World MAP seminars in these nations.
  • Digitizing Project: Thank you for continuing to pray for the near-complete digitizing every language version of The Shepherd’s Staff in order to facilitate broader distribution, both electronically and with physical books printed in many more nations.

Conclusion

In these days of upheaval, we can rest in the assurance that we have been given to the Kingdom for such a time as this, and God is with us! Since He has chosen and called us to this time, He will equip and grace us with whatever we need to remain strong witnesses for Christ.

So be encouraged! Our God is the Living God Who rules and reigns, and knows all. He is the only God who can actually hear and answer the cries and prayers of people (2Ch 7:14). Let us be faithful, diligent and brave to pray “God-sized prayers” in order to see God-sized answers!

For He Will Answer When We Call!

         For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith’ (Rom 1:16,17).

Yeshu ke Naam se, Amen! (which is Hindi for “in Jesus’ Name, Amen!”). This powerful phrase still rings in my ears, just as it was shouted by hundreds of Indian pastors during the four most recent World MAP Pastors’ Renewal and Training Seminars.

This intense three-week trip involved 11 flights and multiple looong drives to get to our remote seminar locations – where few are willing to go, but where the needs are greatest.

The effort is always so worth it. For in each of the four locations, we were met with such spiritually-hungry pastors who are deeply committed to Christ and to doing the work of ministry. As we conversed with them, some important facts became clearly evident.

Overall Reality in India

Many areas of India are in the midst of rising, violent and brutal persecution of all religions other than Hinduism – but particularly of Christians. Regular beatings, murders, rapes and mob destruction of homes and churches are the most pronounced forms.

In addition, Christians can have wages withheld or even lose employment, be evicted from housing, publicly ridiculed and harassed, and be completely cut off by their own family members. This is all carried out with government and police approval, and often with their direct participation.

But hallelujah that even in the midst of this growing animosity, India is experiencing great revival! Astounding numbers of people are abandoning Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Islam for a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is moving in power with signs and wonders, as Indians witness firsthand the reality of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to save, heal and deliver. It is estimated there are 35 million Christians now in India, and approximately 15,000 more are receiving Christ every month!

This, of course, serves to highlight the need for equipped shepherds for these many lambs; those who will be faithful to the Word and the Spirit of God, and who know how to make genuine disciples of Jesus Christ.

What is happening now in India is not new as we look at the 2,000+ year history of the Church. The rise of persecution only increases the spread of the Gospel. For nothing can stop the Gospel of Jesus Christ! That will continue to be true until the return of our Lord and Savior, when “the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever” (Rev 11:15). Amen!

Up Close and Firsthand

What we witnessed at each of the four seminars in northern India was so very encouraging! Most of the leaders who attended were first-generation Christ followers who have not known the Lord for long. Many were Hindu converts, and one had even been a Hindu priest who surrendered his life to Christ!

They have had little exposure or ministry training, and their spiritual hunger and openness to the principles of Scripture and the moving of the Holy Spirit was almost overwhelming. It was an immense joy and privilege – and encouragement – to share in the things of God with these precious brothers and sisters in India.

Most will go back to their ministry positions and face hardship and persecution. Please continue to keep these courageous frontline workers in your prayers as the Holy Spirit leads you.

A Quick Move

It is far too easy in these perilous times to be so immersed in, or distracted by, the ominous and concerning events in your own nation that you forget to “lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already ripe for harvest” (Jn. 4:35).

What we witnessed in India has also been seen as we travel to others nations, and we read and hear many similar reports from others. God is moving powerfully by His Spirit, and dare I say, quickly in these days! The fields of the earth are ripe, and He is calling us to gather in His great harvest as the due reward for His Son’s suffering and willing death for us on the Cross.  

Please remember once again – nothing can stop the Gospel of Jesus Christ except God’s people being silent. There is no work of hell or difficulty of life or political agenda that can stop the Truth of Jesus Christ, the power of His shed blood on the Cross, and His resurrection from the dead unto eternal life to prove once and for all that He is Jesus the Christ, the Son of the Living God and our Great Lord and Savior!

So lift your voice as a bold witness of the Gospel, and let us pray God-sized prayers for the salvation of all, both near and far!                    

PRAYER THIS MONTH

1. INDIA
Thank you for praying for the World MAP India seminars completed in March. God did a powerful work, and you were very much a part as you lifted up these events in prayer. Now, let us continue to pray for:

  • The pastors and leaders to keep applying, receiving and refreshing themselves in the Holy Spirit as they walk fully in the things of the Spirit in the days to come.
  • The pastors to put into action what they learned and to also teach others all that God has imparted to them.
  • The Holy Spirit to be poured out in India for a continued, and even greater, harvest of souls unto the glory of Jesus.
  • Christ followers to be protected, but to also be bold in sharing their faith in the face of trial and persecution.

2. NIGERIA
Once again, Islamic terrorists are kidnapping, pillaging and committing murder in entire Christian villages in northern Nigeria. The government, dominated by Muslims, does little to stop this barbaric and demonic activity.

Please pray for:
  • The protection and swift release of all girls and boys that were kidnapped.
  • A righteous change in the Nigerian government’s leadership.
  • Terrorist groups to be caught and rendered inoperable by salvation through Christ or by military intervention.
  • International pressure to be put on the Nigerian government, and to give aid and assistance to those being persecuted.
  • Those Christian villages and towns to continue to stand firm in their testimony for Christ, and for many to come to Jesus in the midst of the heartache and terror. 

3. WORLD MAP
Praise the Lord! After many, many months of effort, a large sea container of Shepherd’s Staff has reached its final destination and is ready to begin distribution to church leaders. Thank you SO much for praying!

And of course, thank you for praying for the recent seminars in India. We know they were fruitful and effective because of you!

This is such a busy year at World MAP with much happening. Here are just a few of the things for which we would enlist your prayers:

  • Multiple doors are opening for printing and distribution of Shepherd’s Staffs in various nations. Please pray for the wisdom and leading of the Holy Spirit, and for the financial provision to continue moving ahead in this new season.
  • More languages of Shepherd’s Staffs are continuing to be digitized, so thank you for praying for the successful completion of this large project.
  • Upcoming seminars this year in Zambia and Nepal are in the final planning stages, so thank you for keeping those events in your prayers.
  • A large order of Shepherd’s Staffs in multiple languages is currently being printed. Please pray for the very swift and successful completion of these books – some of which are headed to Zambia for the July World MAP seminars and to Nepal for seminars in the fall.

Conclusion

For each of us, as faithful Christ followers, may we lift our prayers and give our effort for the release of laborers for the Harvest that is ready.

May we cry out for a continual and great outpouring of the Holy Spirit, to bring repentance and salvation to every tribe, tongue and nation, and for every prodigal and lost soul away from Jesus, all in preparation for our Lord’s soon return!
