2023 November Prayer Corps

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem” (Ps 122:6)

We are all aware of the horrific events occurring in Israel right now, instigated by the brutal terrorist attacks on October 7. Ever-increasing signs of widening conflict could now potentially draw many nations into worldwide warfare.

Truly, only God knows for certain all that is really going on, and all that is about to happen in this area of the world. But this we do know: The Bible reveals how each of us can impact what is happening in this hotspot, and it is for us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Ps 122:6).

This involves praying for both physical and spiritual peace – which we know can only come through the Prince of Peace. People alone are not able to create peace for themselves. Only God can bring peace to this broken world on this side of heaven (Phil 4:6,7). So let us ask God to impart His peace in the hearts of both Jews and Muslims by personally accepting the Prince of Peace as Lord of their lives.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem also brings blessings to those who pray, as our prayers are blessing the Jewish people (Gen 12:3). So let us join with Christ-followers around the world both now, and in the weeks and months to come, as we cry out to the Lord of the hosts of heaven.

God still has plans to fulfill for the chosen people. Ask for His hand to move and His will to be established for the people of Israel; and also for Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Iran, America, Russia, China and so many more nations that are in turmoil and despair.

Jesus came for and loves every person of every nation. As we pray, God will answer and His Spirit will move.

Here are more ways to pray for Israel:

  • Bind up the demon spirits, principalities and powers that are driving the hatred and violence in this conflict.
  • For the Prince of Peace to bring a righteous cessation of violence, and that lives would be protected and spared even in conflict.
  • For the protection and safe return of hostages.
  • That the Gospel would be freely and boldly declared among Jews and Muslims, and that Christians in the regions would show the love of God to all.
  • For the international community to stand for true righteousness, and work to encourage the instigators of conflict to cease and desist.
  • That God would turn the hearts of leaders (Pr 21:1) to align with the will of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit, in spite of their ideology or convictions.

MORE PRAYER THIS MONTH

World MAP

1. INDIA – Thanks for praying for the World MAP team trip to India this month (Nov 11-22). Pray for a straight way without problems as we travel, and for health and safety for all. Ask for an outpouring of God’s Spirit in every place we go. Pray for blessing and powerful encounters with the Lord for every person participating. May the will of the Lord be confirmed and set in place by His Spirit!

2. THE SHEPHERD’S STAFF – There are many thousands of Shepherd’s Staff books in process of being shipped, and also en route to various parts of the world. Some challenges have arisen, so we are asking you to join us in prayer for the RELEASE of all that is needed for these books to be on their way and into the hands of the pastors who are awaiting them!

Conclusion

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful (Jn 14:27).

Our God, the One and only true God, reigns supreme over all the nations of this world. As we listen to His Spirit leading us how to pray, and align ourselves with His will, our God will hear and move in power in all the earth.

With God, all things are possible! So let us pray in faith, and pray God-sized prayers in these critical days of Harvest.

For Jesus’ sake and glory,
Dr. Frank and Wendy Parrish
